There, you’ll try homemade pierogi and sip on traditional kompot, just like in a Polish family kitchen. Then it’s on to hearty bigos with local beer, followed by a fresh pączek (Polish donut) from a beloved neighborhood bakery, a classic Polish dessert, and finally a toast with flavored vodka to wrap things up with true local spirit.

Our food tour kicks off at a legendary milk bar, a type of cafeteria that dates back to communist-era Warsaw. These spots were once state-subsidized canteens, and today they remain beloved by locals for their nostalgic charm and honest Polish cooking. At our first stop, you’ll taste authentic pierogi—Poland’s famous stuffed dumplings—just like grandma used to make. We’ll also sip on kompot, a traditional homemade fruit drink that’s always on the table in places like this. It’s sweet, red, and full of history—just like the bar itself.

The food tasting tour was a wonderful way to experience different Polish foods. Daniella was an excellent guide. She went out of her way to explain all of the food and drinks we had. She even went on the bus with us to show how to use the machine to get tickets. Ask for Daniella; you will have an amazing experience.

I really enjoyed the pierogi and the fascinating information we got at the first stop. It was amazing to be in a place that used to be part of the communist era and is now a spectacular restaurant. I also loved the bigos, and the dessert was absolutely delicious. The guide was very friendly and welcoming. A great way to experience Warsaw’s history and food!

I absolutely loved this food tour in Warsaw! The pierogi were a highlight for me, especially when we visited the Milk Bar , such a nostalgic and authentic place. Hearing the story behind the dishes made everything so much more meaningful. The food was delicious and filling, and the whole event was really well organized.
