Wellington Cable Car
Drive through Thorndon, Wellington's colonial settler and early Māori historic area up to the Wellington Cable Car. Take in the beauty of Wellington harbour from the Cable Car Lookout and visit the award winning Cable Car Museum. If you like, ride on the iconic Cable Car down to Lambton Quay and back. Then enjoy a coffee or tea with scones or muffins at the Cable Top Cafe.
Drive through Kelburn and the university, down the steepest street in Wellington and into the CBD and Parliament precinct. Step onto the grounds of Parliament to see “the Beehive” and hear about New Zealand’s political system.

5.00Our private tour with Silver Cloud Tours (Dec. 2023) from Wellington to the Martinborough wine region was, without a doubt, the highlight of our entire New Zealand cruise holiday. From the outset, Helen was an absolute pleasure to deal with—prompt, professional, and incredibly accommodating. Despite the logistical challenges of being on a cruise ship, she tailored the itinerary to suit our interests and made every effort to ensure our day ran smoothly. Helen’s warm and friendly nature immediately put us at ease. Her deep knowledge of the region’s history, culture, and landmarks added so much richness to the journey as we travelled through the stunning countryside. She struck the perfect balance between guiding us and giving us space to enjoy the experience as a couple. The standout moment of the day was our visit to Palliser Estate Winery, where we were treated to a private tasting in their exclusive Tasting Room and Underground Cellar. Sampling wines not available at the cellar door made the experience feel truly special. This tour was exceptional in every way—thoughtfully curated, beautifully paced, and excellent value. We can’t recommend Silver Cloud Tours and Helen highly enough!

5.00My wife and I are on a Celebrity Cruise and stopped in Wellington. Rather than pay the high cost of their tour we hired Silver Cloud and could not have been happier. They met us right beside the ship with a sign with our name on it. The car was immaculate and clean. and brand new. Mark and his wife run the company. Mark was our guide for the day. It was one of the most pleasurable and memorable days. He brought us everywhere we wanted to go to. He gave us a suggested tour with all the highlights and responded to our last minute requests.He was informative, interesting, friendly but not obtrusive, accompanied us on our shopping jaunts and was always present with more interesting bits of information on life in New Zealand.He is a constant fount of information and statistics. We can highly recommend him and his wife's services as a tour company.We left totally happy and satisfied with zero complaints. a Five out of Five. We have done many tours over the years and some have been disasters. We would hire them again in a second with no reservations. Worth it 100%.

5.00We spent the day with Helen touring the city and other areas. We had a fantastic time, learned a lot. Helen was very knowledgeable and personable. She tailored the experience to what we wanted to see. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.

5.00Mark is a passionate Wellington based operator who is very knowledgeable about his beloved City. He provides full details of all local highlights and makes sure that the customer is engaged and involved in the journey. He also ensures that clients are offered refreshments along the way to break up the day. It is definately enhanced by the Tesla experience.

5.00We got the gold service Mark took us for lunch it was great We where the talk of the ship Mark will soon work out what you like and tailor the tour to suit. We liked our craft beers and went sampling after seeing all the sites.
