  Our private tour in Roatán was hands down one of the highlights of our trip! From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. It was just the three of us, and having a completely private, personalized experience made it feel so special—truly the kind of day you wish you could bottle up and relive. Getting up close with the sloths and monkeys was unforgettable, and ending the day at the stunning West Bay Beach was the perfect way to soak in the beauty of the island. Michelle, our guide, was absolutely phenomenal. She made the entire experience seamless and fun—stopping anytime we wanted for photos, sharing so much insight about the island, and pointing us to the best snorkeling spots. Her knowledge, warmth, and attention to detail made all the difference. You can really feel the care and pride of this family-run business, and it shows in every part of the experience. If you’re visiting Roatán and want something memorable, relaxing, and completely tailored to you—this is it. Highly, highly recommend!

  We had a great time. Our private driver (Kayla, I believe) was knowledgeable and super friendly. It was a no-stress tour. The sanctuary was fun and the beach experience lovely!

  The monkey and sloth visit is much more than that. The tour should be more descriptive. We saw a lot more animals and birds which was a pleasant surprise.

  We recommend this excursion, the booking process and the execution 100%. We were picked up at the cruise port and driven individually -as a couple- and without other guests first to the zoo and then to the West Bay for a swim. There was always plenty of time to spare. It was also held at desired locations and lookouts with the departure time of the cruise ship always in view. There was information about the country and people. Thank you for this wonderful trip. • Monkeys and three-toed sloths up close and personal

  The monkey sloth sanctuary is more of a zoo and is smaller than expected. Apparently they have other activities you can do like rent an ATV if you purchase it separate tour. We did the sloth monkey and West Bay Beach break tour. The time at the sanctuary was less than an hour, but so rewarding. They let you into the cages and the monkeys sit on your head! You can no longer hold the sloths, but you can get really close to them and they even had a little baby! West Bay Beach was fun and the pizza is pretty good at the thirsty turtle bar. Our tour guide was helpful and we had a great time. I just wish we would have realized we would be spending more time on the beach than in the sanctuary so we could have been more prepared with beach toys or snorkel equipment.

  They did a great job from MJ tours instructions to find them and our Guide Chelsea was excellent. She took time in taking us to the Monkey and Sloth tour, and side trip to chocolate factory then. Gave us good recommendation to have fun and not to worry about missing our Ship. West Bay beach is very nice. She even took our picture and excellent in communication, her car is comfortable and took us to nice view and places and explained to us history about Roatan. MICHELLE in MJ tours did a good job in providing us Chelsea. Roatan is a nice port area and they made sure we are safe!!Thank you Michelle and Chelsea. They can be trusted and they are safe!

  Our tour guide Cary was amazing, very knowledgeable and accommodating. He drove us all over the island and told us about life. The animal sanctuary was great we had a wonderful time.

  Edmundo was an excellent guide, meeting us just outside the port with cold water and a/c minibus. He was a fount of information as we drove to MJ sanctuary. Even agreed to do an extra stop at the chocolate store on the way back. Our guide Jacob, at the sanctuary was brilliant encouraging the monkeys and, parrots to climb over us. The sloths were amazing and there were plenty for us to see and get photos with. Then off to West Beach, where we had great food and a relaxing time before heading back. If we had wanted to do more beach activities, like snorkelling he introduced us to a contact. Edmundo was happy to adjust the duration to meet our needs.

  From the very moment we booked our excursion with MJ Tours, everything was handled with professionalism and clear, detailed communication. We felt completely taken care of before we even arrived—and that set the tone for an incredible day. When we met Mishelle this morning, we instantly knew we had made the right decision. She greeted us with such warmth and kindness, and within minutes we felt comfortable, relaxed, and excited for the day ahead. Her vehicle was impeccably clean, and the air conditioning was a dream on a hot Caribbean day—such a thoughtful touch that made a big difference! Mishelle gave us a wonderful tour of the island, pointing out hidden gems and sharing insights we never would have discovered on our own. One of the highlights of our day was visiting the sloth and monkey sanctuary—it was one of the cleanest facilities we’ve ever seen. They gave us plenty of time for interactive visits with the monkeys, macaws, sloths, and so many other animals in the rescue. It was such a special, hands-on experience that we will never forget. She also took us to the most stunningly beautiful beach, and it had everything you could possibly need—clean restrooms, a bar and restaurant, changing rooms, showers, and more. It made the entire experience feel comfortable, relaxing, and absolutely perfect. Mishelle’s personality is absolutely delightful—bubbly, engaging, and genuinely passionate about what she does. You can tell she truly cares about her guests having the best experience possible. Out of all the excursions I’ve done, this was hands down one of my favorites—and that’s largely because of Mishelle. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable and fun, but her driving skills are phenomenal, which made us feel safe and completely at ease the entire time. If you’re booking with MJ Tours, I highly recommend requesting Mishelle as your guide—you will be so glad you did. I cannot recommend MJ Tours enough. If you are even thinking about booking with them—do it. You will not be disappointed. This was more than just a tour… it was an experience we’ll never forget.
