Tino was an energetic and extremely affable guide through greater Willemstad and the Kenepa region. His knowledge of Curaçao’s political, economic and social history is tempered by his anecdotal knowledge of sports on the island, in particular baseball, which he can also speak extensively about. We were with him for about 7 hours. While driving across the island, he also tells stories about his life growing up and he stops at several places that he considers to be the island’s must sees. He also takes you to places where locals eat (be prepared to bring some cash for that), and where locals go to the beach to enjoy the sun. Tino was also extremely knowledgeable and honest about the political and economic history of the island that deals with the very real legacy of slavery and colonialism. We visited the Tula Museum and other sites that celebrate Black Caribbean liberation. As a historian, I deeply appreciated his insights. In all, Free World Tours was a really good experience with Tino at the helm. I would definitely recommend. 🇨🇼

Tino was amazing. Great Black History tour plus the bonus of showing us lots of natural hidden gems. Tino was very kind and gave great background on the history of slavery and the murder of Tula. Many memorable parts of this tour and truly an experience I won’t forget. I highly recommend this tour. You will have an amazing time learning from a local perspective and an enjoyable and educational experience.
