A fantastic 10 days travelling through some of the most beautiful countries in Europe. Our guide Saimir Ismaili was excellent and looked after us very well, as did the driver who made us feel very safe whilst travelling through each country. The tour was very well organised, Hotels were comfortable and located close to attractions, restaurants etc. and each stop on the itinerary was interesting and memorable. We had plenty of free time in the evenings to explore and find restaurants to our taste. This was our first experience with an Exoticca and we’ve now booked another tour later in the year having had such a positive experience this time.

I had such a wonderful trip through the Balkans, and so much of that was because of our guide, Saimir Ismaili. He knows the area so well, but what really stood out was how kind and genuine he was with everyone in our group. When he found out my birthday was during the trip, he made it extra special, and that meant so much to me. I'll always remember his warmth and thoughtfulness. I truly couldn't have asked for a better guide.

We had wonderful experience during this trip. It was well organised and we were able to see many different places in a short span of time. We stayed at different hotels and all were nice and close to the city centre. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and respectful and the driver drove very safely. All the local tour guides were equally knowledgeable. We had great time visiting the Balkans with Exoticca and will definitely recommend this trip to our friends and family.

This unique adventure takes you from the highest mountain top to see a pristine emerald lake, to beaches where you can dip your toes in the Adriatic sea. We were oriented to the diverse topography and complex political history of the Balkans by our expert guide Saimir Ismaili, who imparted his deep knowledge of the region, filtered through his clear love for its lands and peoples. Some highlights of this trip were the president's bunker deep underground, which rivals the fantasies of 007 movies, castles and forts, a restaurant that a river ran through, fabulous food, friendly people who take mid day coffee seriously, the contemporary architecture of Tirana, the churches and synagogues and the daily calls to prayer... Though our first hotel was mediocre, accommodations were good, especially the final hotel in Tirana which was on the public square in the centre of the city. Unfortunately Exoticca did not communicate to the hotel that we had booked an extra 2 days; that is when we learned that Exoticca does not have 24 hour staffing for its emergency line! Saimir came to our rescue, sorting out all details. This trip was of very good value. The Balkans are a less travelled tourist destination, for now. Folks with mobility considerations will want to know that there was a lot of walking, much of it on uneven surfaces. Ramps are not part of hotel building codes. Again our fantastic guide and also our great bus driver stepped in to assist. If there is any way that you can request our guide, Saimir Ismaili, you will have a fabulous adventure, you will learn and laugh a lot!

This was an Exoticca trip starting from Tirana in Albania, then going in a clockwise loop to Bar and Kotor in Montenegro, Dubrovnik in Croatia, Mostar and Sarajevo in Bosnia Herzegovina, then back to Tirana. The scenery was wonderful and the food very good. We were fortunate to have great company with travellers from a number of countries and an excellent guide named Saimir who was extremely knowledgeable and went that extra mile to ensure that we all really enjoyed the trip. Wonderful experience.

Great 9 days in the Balkan region. Fantastic sceneries and history of the places. Great food. We experimented with everything. Saimir Ismaili as your guide, nothing can go wrong. Very knowledgeable person. He knows everything about the region. When you are on the tour bus, he shares that knowledge using a mic with added humour and suspense. We were lucky to have Saimir. Makes us to discover more about Balkan countries one more time.
