  The staff is exceptional, especially Lorenzo, whose english is on the high level, clear and excellent pronunciation, and above everything he's very informational, about whales and generally. The other staff are very polite and reachable. Seeing whales are lifetime experience! Worth every penny spent!

  The humpback whale viewing was difficult because guests at the front wouldn’t kneel to allow more people to see. Otherwise, the guide was great and seeing the orcas was delightful! The cabin was comfortable and overall we really enjoyed our experience

  We really enjoyed the trip and were very fortunate to see a number of orcas and humpback whales. The team on the MS Gabriele was very friendly and informative about the locality and the animals. Great insight. One positive of choosing the Gabriele was that it is the fastest way to travel to the feeding grounds so we could spend longer watching the whales.

  Great tour through the islands, we managed to see orcas and humpback whales, as well as some great landscapes. Great guide in Raul too, would recommend.

  Excellent trip on a very comfortable and warm boat.Fortunate to seea large pod of orcas and 3 humpback whales, plenty of time observing.

  Do not look at any other companies in Tromso for Whale trips - We were booked on an overnight with another company this was cancelled at short notice, they then booked us on a day trip the following day, this was cancelled "due poor weather" mmmm. I met Raul at the harbour who knew that our trip was cancelled before we knew! Doing his job he offered all the disappointed people seats on his cruise that was leaving at 9am. We all accepted and headed off to the boat, in hindsight this was a better and faster boat and spent more time at the whale grounds. Getting there was a little rough but we loved it, once at the whale grounds it was calm and we saw 20/30 Orca and two Humpbacks, a brilliant day out. The crew were excellent, a few people were a little sea sick going out and they were well looked after. Raul was a credit to the company, not only had he secured them another 70+ customers, he got us the cruise that made our holiday. Onboard Raul was giving us info on what we expected to see, with a lot of humour and fun, give the lad a well deserved bonus.

  We had such a great day out this week with Raul and the gang. We headed off at 9am and went full gas for the north and whales, Raul was entertaining throughout and the bar pumped out coffees. Couple of people felt unwell but, comes with the territory, make sure you take meds and go outside for air when you first feel it. It soon flattens out! We saw probably 50 orca and they came so close to the boat, lots with babies, we saw a humpback and honestly - it was magical. Raul kept us entertained on the way back, hotdogs were superb and seats were so comfy after a long day - everyone slept most of the way back. A thoroughly brilliant day, tears all round at seeing the orcas up so close and in the wild living such a brilliant life.

  Note for the travel sick - if your original boat cancels because of bad weather, maybe accept that and chill out on shore, I think this is the poorliest I’ve ever felt. HOWEVER, the guides and staff were super supportive and helpful which was reassuring. Our original trip was cancelled and the guide was walking past and offered space on their trip departing slightly later than ours. Our original company hadn’t sent out the cancellation email until around the time we were due to depart so we were kitted out, ready to go and then had the rug pulled out from under us. Getting a seat on the Gabriele was great luck, and saved our day. We hit a particularly rough patch about 20/30 minutes from leaving which was obviously why the other trip had cancelled. Sick bags were promptly handed round and collected back in via bin bag once used. It lasted what felt like a lifetime but I fell asleep towards the end and by the time I woke up, we were being called outside for a pod of orcas. The guide was excellent in moving people around so we all got chance to see clearly and take pictures. A humpback then appeared in the distance and we drifted towards it to get a closer look. The guide was incredibly knowledgable and kind, offering hints and tips for getting the most out of tromso on our way back to dock. All in all, it was a terrifying, excellent day out. Would do again, though maybe buy some sea sickness tablets ahead of the journey!
