The Kicking Horse trip includes all of the biggest & best rapids on the river. This unforgettable journey begins calmly, where you get familiar with rafting and find out fun facts about the river as you take in the views of the scenic upper section. Then, it’s onto the mighty rapids the Kicking Horse is famous for! As the canyon narrows, the waves build, drenching rafters in continuous class 4 rapids. We provide all the necessary rafting equipment, including wetsuits, shoes, helmet and life jackets and we have lots of warm gear so you will always be warm and comfortable.

Your 20 km journey on the mighty Kicking Horse River has it all- spectacular scenery and thrilling white water. At Hydra we always raft our guests down both sections of the river, making this trip perfect for first-time and experienced rafters alike. We start in the calmer and scenic class one and then hit the adrenaline pumping class fours. The mild river section allows our guests time to familiarize themselves with the raft, paddling and guide’s commands (and go for a refreshing dip in the river) before hitting the famous and exhilarating bigger rapids. The Hydra difference - we have some off the most experienced (and entertaining) guides on the river and our beautiful rafting base (with hot showers and snacks for purchase) is located right next to the river. So, more time on the river and less time sitting in a bus. This is the best trip on the river. Hands down.

5.00We had an amazing rafting experience with Hydra. Our guide Bill was very professional and knowledgable. He really knows how to build your confidence before and throughout the experience. The rafting was amazing. Kicking horse is such a cool river to raft on. And also the gear provided was very good. We also went rafting with other operators but Hydra was the absolute best!!!

5.00Had a fantastic afternoon on the rapids. Our guide was Fabian and he was very knowledgeable but great fun. Very good equipment provided and a very high level of safety. The scenery down the river is beautiful.

5.00We had a fantastic time with Dean as our guide. Loads of laughs along the way. We felt very safe but still got a bit of an adrenaline kick at the same time. Would definitely recommend Hydra River Guides for whitewater rafting on Kicking Horse river.

5.00Cannot recommend this experience enough! We found out whilst we were there that this company starts further up the river to all others, meaning that you get a longer ride. All of the staff were also lovely, and took great care of us. Would absolutely do it again.

5.00This was an incredible experience! Our guide was skilled, safe, funny, positive, knowledgeable and kind. He went out of his way to make sure everyone in our raft was having fun and were safe. Especially with my two sons. All the guides were great -- they worked together and were incredibly knowledgable. We can't recommend this amazing team more!

5.00So much fun! Bill was our guide. He made it extra fun for us. My daughter and I were teamed up with 2 young adult couples making for a really great day. The scenery is beautiful. I would recommend this to any first timer.
