Lapland is the world’s largest contiguous area for picking organic berries and mushrooms. Wild berries and mushrooms can be freely picked in Finland's forests under everyman's right, but be careful which varieties you pick, as some berries and fungi are poisonous. But no worries, your experienced nature guide will help you determine eatable options. Besides being an adventure for the senses, a hike through the varied terrain amidst unspoiled nature is also the best possible exercise. The berries nurtured by the midnight sun are also healthy, and can be eaten just as they are when you find them. We take a ride to secret berries & mushrooms place to be ready to pick up these healthy forest berries. During our walk we fill up our baskets and of course taste some berries. We will have a break and taste some local snacks with coffee and juice. Trip is suitable also for families with children. The best picking season for most mushrooms and berries runs from late July to early October.

We've had the most amazing time. Alex is very knowledgeable and took us to a very dreamy forest by the lake . He showed us briefly what not to pick and gave us basket and tool and off we went! He prepared fire for us inside the tent and some yummy snacks. The outing ended with us all gather around the fire eating freshly picked wild mushroom Alex prepared for us with yummy hot chocolate and marshmallow!

One of the best tours we have ever done, highly recommend using this company (Nordic Adventures) for tours. Alex was so friendly and knowledgeable about the area and all the plants, berries and mushrooms.

This was definitely a highlight of the trip for us and also the kids. Alex was so knowledgeable about the area and all of the plants and mushrooms! Took us to a beautiful private forest with a fire teepee and private lake that was so peaceful. I would recommend this company for any trips they have just based on our experience with this tour!

Alex is really knowledgeable about the berries, mushrooms and plants growing in the Lapland forest. Nice to go especially if you usually live in the city. We also had a nice campfire, hot chocolate, sausages and marshmallows toasted over the campfire. Price is a little steep as you have to pay for minimum 2 people even if you're one person, so bring a companion!

We walked through the forest and found some mushrooms and a lot of berries. Alex, our guide, explained us a lot and made a fire to grill a sausage and marshmallows. We enjoyed it really! Thanks for the tour!
