Spot and swim with dolphins in Holdfast Shores on a dolphin-watching cruise from Adelaide.

Departing from the Glenelg Marina Pier on a catamaran, you’ll cruise out into the gulf for a 4 hour cruise hosted by our Marine Biologists. As thousands of dolphins live in the gulf, you’re guaranteed to see these loveable marine mammals.

Offering a once in a lifetime Wild Dolphin Swim experience with all equipment supplied, this is an amazing wildlife encounter.

We offer two different swim experiences during our Wild Dolphin Cruise, a Front Swim and a Back Swim. On a typical day, all swimmers should get the opportunity to try both swims, however some days swimmers may only get the opportunity to try one. Our goal is to get all swimmers to see a dolphin underwater so please know how friendly staff will do their best to make this happen. Front Swim Experience: Lay down and feel as if you’re a part of the dolphin pod, our Front Swim is an experience you don’t want to miss! Our custom made Front Swim net is secured between the bows of Temptation and allows customers to experience wild dolphins swimming within arms length, playing and socialising on the bow of Temptation. Back Swim Experience: Submerge yourself in the water with our Back Swim Experience, an amazing way to view wild dolphins in their natural habitat. Our Back Swim Experience allows customers to interact with dolphins from a truly unique perspective. Jump in and hold on to our mermaid lines off the back of the vessel and enjoy amazing interactions our wild dolphins offer. Please note there is no direct physical interaction with the dolphins such as touching or feeding.

Absolutely incredible experince to see wild dolphins naturally without interruption. We saw a pod of sleepy dolphins and another that was very playful. Also since we went in January some babies and a pregnant mum too! A must do on any Adelaide trip! The crew was so lovely to chat too and enthusiastic every time we saw dolphins.

I am still buzzing from an absolutely incredible morning with the Temptation Crew; they worked tirelessly to find several different pods of dolphins for us to swim with and are extremely knowledgeable about the marine life of South Australia. I also liked that they were careful not to spend too much time with each pod, and were respectful of the dolphins. You get to spend plenty of time in the water with the dolphins, and they are very interactive and playful; seeing them swim under and next to you, playing and rolling around was an absolute bucket list experience for me. I can't recommend this experience highly enough. Thank you!!!

My first trip was cut short as sea conditions became unexpectedly rough. We had the option of a refund or another date. I was fortunate enough to have time to rebook for the 29 December afternoon swim. The trip far exceeded my expectations and I cannot recommend this enough. We had fabulous sightings and to see a group of 9 dolphins (only half that particular pod) swimming so close to us in the front net was unbelievable. It felt like being in a 3D wildlife documentary. It was amazing to see life’s knocks shown so clearly on the individuals including damaged fins and scars. It somehow made them so ‘real’. We were fortunate to see two smaller pods as well so lots of dolphins that day. The viewing from the back of the catamaran isn't so good as the dolphins tend to swim at the front although the skipper manoeuvres where possible to enhance the experience. It’s also quite hard work, especially for me as an out of condition pensioner. I also enjoyed simply viewing from the deck which feels quite low to the water so you get some excellent views. The crew were friendly and so knowledgeable. I never felt too old or unsafe. Elle was especially kind to me. I cannot praise the whole crew enough. An unforgettable experience 🐬🐬🐬 Do not miss this experience if you ever have the opportunity.

Absolutely amazing and rewarding experience. What a lovely way to swim with dolphins in their natural habitat instead of in captivity. The dolphins were left alone if presenting signs of stress but majority of the time they swam close to the boat and so were very clearly visible (at least 25 at a time). A truly wonderful and mesmerising experience and would definitely do again and recommend.

This is an incredible experience. The dolphins are the star of the show, but all the staff are amazing. The ones on the boat are incredibly knowledgeable, and they genuinely want everyone to have a great experience. The admin staff do a brilliant job too, juggling bookings, including refunds or rebooking due to bad weather. Do be aware that your cruise may be cancelled on the day, due to unfavourable weather, including high winds. Great communications throughout.

This is definitely a once in a lifetime kind of experience. Unlike some places where you are in a tank with trained dolphins, performing for the cameras, you are given a glimpse into the world of wild dolphins, just doing what they do. When the marine biologist guides tell you that each experience is different, they’re not lying. We had an absolute treat, with some of the beautiful creatures coming SO close, and being just as interested in us as we were of them. Getting dragged along behind the cat was a completely new experience, but one I’m very happy we did. Would 100% recommend this trip to anyone wanting something different, interesting and absolutely unique.

I highly recommend this tour for anyone, a few mates and I did the dolphin swim and it was incredible. We had 5 or 6 different swims in the water throughout the cruise, where at one stage we swam with a pod of at least 30 wild dolphins. They came so close up to us, almost within arms reach. The crew on board were very knowledgeable of the area/marine life, and were very respectful of the different pods we had encounter's with. They ensured the welfare of the dolphins were a priority, so after we spent a little while in the ocean with them they would move the boat to find a different pod. Unfortunately it wasn't ideal perfect weather conditions as it wasn't warm and also was a bit choppy, however it was still definitely a 10/10 experience. The admission fee is reasonably priced, but potentially if there was a bulk multi-experience booking say for the locals (like me) who want to do it lots of times it would be more attractive. However, I will be 100% returning back to do it again. Thank you temptation sailing!

We were so incredibly lucky with the dolphins - we were in the middle of a school of dolphins and saw lots of babies. The organization was fantastic, the guides super friendly and knowledgeable.
