Guided Wild Swim and Hike tours in West Crete. Explore the best of the Cretan nature by combining swimming at remote beaches with hiking through the beautiful Cretan countryside. Hike some of Crete's famous gorges, coastal paths or through the countryside among the many olive groves and wild herbs. Swim on secluded pebble beaches or around rocky capes and coastlines. This listing describes a 1/2 day swim-hike trip, typically lasting approx 8am - 2pm. We also offer multi-day trips, for details contact us. A typical swim-hike will include a a swim of approx 1.5km, often accompanied by a kayak, then a hike of around 5-7km, on rocky paths, usually also accompanied by goats and other wildlife, and often with some great views! We can modify this activity (hike distance and swim distance) to include most ability levels, ask for details. We can cater for swimmers of all distances, from just getting started to those swimming distances of 5km+. The exact location for this activity is weather dependent: we will choose on the day of the booking (or the evening before) where the best conditions are.

Miltos and Manu were amazing guides- warm, friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. They know the island so well and made sure whatever the weather we had the most incredible days. It is a small, local business giving one an authentic Cretan experience from hidden caves and beaches to tavernas serving delicious wholesome fare. We would highly recommend this wild swimming trip. Perfect for beginners and experienced swimmers. Loved being able to add in the kayaking and hiking. Not a trip we could ever have done without their knowledge and logistical support.

I did a week's swimming and hiking. It was excellent from start to finish! Great breakfast, followed by a swim and a hike (generally, although sometimes just a swim), snacks provided, and then lunch (sometimes quite late) in a taverna. Didn't need much else! Manu, Fiona and Miltos were fantastic guides, very knowledgeable and always ready to adapt to different weather conditions/needs. I would highly recommend.

My first solo trip was an amazing experience. From the well organised arrival and beautiful, traditional family feel to Mulberry Hill guest house, this was a 10 out of 10 trip for me. Fiona and Manu are kind, decent people who look after their guests and do everything they can to make sure you have a good time. The views from the guest house are just beautiful - my sunrise pics just don’t do it justice! The hiking was great and Miltos knows so much - he’s a great guide and easy going and fun to get along with. The swimming locations and variety were amazing. If you love sea swimming and visiting secluded coves and caves you will love this trip. Safety is paramount, and the team are experienced and always kept their eyes on us - I felt very safe. Finally the food was amazing and you will feel well looked after! I’d go back again in a heartbeat so I definitely trust the Fit in Crete team to give you the best holiday ever!

This was honestly one of the best weeks of my life. I was longing for some adventure and to recuperate from a tough year, and this week delivered. Manu took our group to some truly stunning spots in Crete, and I drank in the scenery, enjoyed the swimming so much, and the taverna lunches were sublime. Every day I felt myself unwind a little more, get stronger in the water, and feel excited about the day ahead. I can't recommend them enough and hope to come back one day. Manu and Miltos the guides were so kind, calm, expert, patient, and unobtrusive - the perfect people to show us the beauty of the island.

Fiona and Manu took me and 10 friends (ages 14 - adult) on a beautiful hike and swim. The whole group absolutely loved the adventure, their guiding style was so perfect - so many things like this are too full of bravado. The others (who hadnt done much sea swimming before) all achieved more than they thought they would and we all ached nicely the next day. Thank you!

This trip had no down sides. If you like to swim and hike this is for you. The guides, Manu, Fiona and Miltos were great. The swims were an achievable workout and the feeling of accomplishment was strong.The selection of the restaurants for the late lunch was great. The hikes gave a whole different perspective of Crete. Also ,the on beach location of the hotel, allowed for a very nice place to relax after a good day. Also, there was a promenade of restaurants on the ocean within a 5 minute walk.

A very special week - Fiona, Manu and Miltos are exceptional hosts and guides. This was a small group holiday with a mix of couples and solo travellers. We stayed in a hotel on Kissamos beach and went out across western Crete each day to swim, hike and eat in excellent local tavernas. The activities were well adapted to the different needs of the group (and taking us further afield to find calm seas on windy days) and well-supported. We swam between islands, over a ship wreck and with a turtle, walked through stunning gorges and along cliff tops, and ate extremely well. As someone who started the week being able to swim 1km but not much more I gained confidence during the week, and did 2.5k on the last day, and always felt well-supported. The group tended to split into a shorter and longer distance ensuring the needs of accomplished triathletes in our group were also met. In amongst the activity, there was plenty of downtime for rest, beach and to explore the local down. All in all an excellent, friendly, relaxing and inspiring holiday. Thank you!

Fabulous family tour company in West Crete. We spent an incredible week on a small group hiking and wild swimming trip led by lovely Manu and Fiona and had a wonderful time. The hikes were stunning and varied, including gorges and coastal paths. The swims were beautiful and Fi and Manu adapted the swim options depending on abilities which I was grateful for. Everything was really well organised, and we were taken to gorgeous local tavernas in little villages to feast on the brilliant Cretan cuisine. Miltos was also a fantastic guide, and all three guides shared their expert knowledge and enthusiasm for this beautiful island. Thank you Fi, Manu and Miltos!

I booked the 7 day swim and hike with Fit and Crete and loved the experience. Guides were helpful without being coddling, and offered options for the fast and slower swimmers. The hikes were informative and relaxed, with plenty of historical and natural tidbits, plus shady spots and water spouts to refresh ourselves. Each day is crowned with a wonderful, delectable meal. The combination of challenge and reward was perfect.

We had a great time with fit in crete. The activity walking and snorkelling in the old port of Falassarna has us much more. We swam over a World War II barge and saw several fish. A highlight that I recommend! To follow with the sunset on the beach to complete this end of the day.
