Your adventure begins with a 2-mile dog sled ride. Feel the power, excitement, and energy of our amazing sled dogs as they are harnessed to our comfortable wheeled sleds on this hour and a half dog sled tour. Mush through the Seward Alaska wilderness to the base of Resurrection Mountain and along Box Canyon Creek. Your guide will explain how we train and steer the dogs, and tell stories from the trail. Upon return to the kennel, tour our beautiful kennel facilities, laugh as a guest is dressed up as an Iditarod musher and cuddle adorable husky puppies*. Our guides offer a delightfully humorous, behind-the-scenes look at the Seavey family’s training for the most demanding race on earth. *We typically have puppies from late May through September

3.00Nice experience but for the price we expected more. The website makes the actual sled/cart ride sound longer but it was maybe 20 minutes. The talk about what goes into the Iditarod race is interesting - they dress up a dog volunteer in the gear. The puppies (from the local shelter) were very cute. I don't think the whole thing took the full hour and a half. It was a rainy day at the end of the season so maybe that was why things were cut short. I did appreciate the hot chocolate. If you have some time to kill in Seward it might be worth a visit but this isn't a must-do in my books.

5.00Everything was handled with exceptional courtesy and professionalism. The guides were well informed and so interesting! Our young guide is about to do her first Iditarod and her excitement was infectious. Another guide was minding the puppies and demonstrating the equipment and had so many experiences to share. We all enjoyed every minute of it. And BTW, met the bus operator in the parking lot and he was another font of helpful suggestions and information. Just lovely.

5.00Wasn't sure what to expect but this dog sled ride was super fun! The dogs absolutely LOVE to run, they get so excited when we arrived, they are all barking the excited yelp. They are so cute, they all seem to have unique personalities. The musher mostly has the break on during the ride since they will pull too fast if not. Hanging out with the puppies at the end was a treat as well.

5.00A great experience, very informative and staff very knowledgeable. We lost be playing with the puppies and seeing the dogs close up and in work mode. Would highly recommend!

5.00Had a great time learning about how dogs are trained and prepared for mushing. Our guide Tietje was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The highlights were getting to ride in a sled pulled by dogs and then getting to greet those dogs at the end and also play with the puppies. It was an overall great experience and one of the highlights of our trip.

5.00You will love this excursion. The dogs are amazing & eager to pull the sled. The staff were so friendly and very knowledgeable and snapped great video of the ride to share with everyone. There was a demonstration at the end showing how the dogs and mushers are equipped for the Iditarod Race. We also got o see and play with 10 weeks old pups! Adorable!

5.00We had a great time! The wheeled cart thing is covered during rain, which was nice. Staff takes pictures and a video of your group during the ride and shares it with you at the end. I learned so much and playing with the puppies was an added bonus.
The ride is pretty rough...

5.00The ride is pretty rough in places so people with back or neck issues be aware. Snuggling with pups is so much fun!
