Windsor Castle
The town of Windsor is best known for its historical links to the British royal family, and it is suitably steeped in pageantry and history. Towering over the rest of the town is Windsor Castle, the ancestral home of the English and later British monarchy, and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and is today one of the official residences of His Majesty The King. Occupying over 10.5 hectares, the Castle offers a varied day out for visitors, including a visit to the magnificent State Apartments and St George's Chapel. The Castle's State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle's royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. If you decide not to include admission to Windsor Castle, you will have free time in Windsor town.
St. George's Chapel

It is both a Royal Peculiar, a church under the direct jurisdiction of the monarch, and the Chapel of the Order of the Garter. Cameron our guide and Michelangelo our driver were absolutely wonderful. It is a difficult task to cover three sites hours apart in one tour but they performed fabulously. Instructions were clear. Material was educational and entertaining but concise. We learned about the sites, English history as well as etymology and origins of idioms such as raining cats and dogs.

Richard was our tour guide for today, and he was great! The tour feels a bit rushed but that’s to be expected by cramming so much in one day. We enjoyed seeing a little of each site nonetheless!

The tour was very good. We got a lot of information from our guide Ana. She was good facing the challenge of guiding in two languages, English and Spanish, and since we understand both, we took advantage of both explanations. She was very clear about the rules, and kept the group on time.

It’s a long day, but you get to see a lot! Saul was a knowledgeable and helpful guide. He was very clear about our schedule and timing for returning to the coach and what was coming next. We really enjoyed Windsor Castle but wish we had more time there. Stonehenge was excellent and our walk through Oxford was wonderful. Thanks for a great day!
