The Wine tour with Maori Culture Wanaka is the only wine tour in Wanaka and Cromwell that connects Maori culture with the local wines and land where you receive the authentic New Zealand experience. You will visit four boutique and more personalised Central Otago wineries in the Wanaka, Tarras and Cromwell area with approximately 18-22 wine tastings and food. This is the only wine tour in Central Otago that offers both the wine experience with the Māori culture footprint. Don't delay, BOOK NOW.

From the beginning of the day trip I knew it would be a special one! Joe was an incredible tour guide who went above and beyond expectations for an unforgettable experience. We learned so much from him not only about the land.. its history.. the wines and about living in this wonderful place. He even answered all of the questions we had about wanaka and our future plans for our trip and he was so helpful in sending links to us! Jamming out to local tunes on the way home was the best! If you're trying to choose between the half and a full day definitely go for the longer one! You won't regret it! Thanks Joe!!

What a great way to get an introduction to the region’s wines and even cooler to learn about Māori history. My partner and I live on the north island in Rotorua where Te ao Māori is front and center but here it is a different story. My parents are visiting and I wanted them to get some of the history and culture and this experience truly stands out. It is special and unique and very different to others in the region. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region. Also the wine was fantastic, this is a great way to go to the boutique wineries in the region you might otherwise miss.

Joe was a phenomenal guide!! My friend and I had a fantastic time with Joe, we really appreciated the history of the Māori culture and the conversations we had with Joe. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough to anyone, just a superb time!!! I am very grateful for the day! Definitely one to recommend for friends and family!!

Thanks so much to Joe for this super fun and educational experience. My family loved spending the day learning from him about Māori history and culture while moving among four wine experiences at Rippon, Maude, Cork and Cap, and Misha's. Our favorite wines were from Maude, while the charcuterie boards for lunch at Cork and Cap were among the best we've ever had with delicious and diverse offerings not usually seen on them, and we loved hearing both Joe's personal story with his Māori heritage along with the earlier history of the Māori on what's now New Zealand. This way of experiencing New Zealand is really meaningful, thank you!

This wine tour was a highlight to our NZ vacation! Joe was amazing, engaging, and very informative. He helped us have a deeper appreciation for and understanding of the Māori culture. All the wineries were outstanding, especially the hosts at each location. We loved how each one was intimate and personal, helping us learn about wine making in the region. Definitely book this tour!

This was the most amazing experience. We learned about Maori culture from the moment we were greeted at our hotel. We were told about the wooden spear and all it's designs and how it was used. Along the way we were told how the area around Wanaka was settled. The three wineries were beautiful with very tasty wines of many types. The tastings were informative and intimate. On the last stop, we were treated with a spread of crackers, savory jam, pate, and artisanal cheeses. I can highly recommend this tour to a everyone.

Everything on this tour was sensational! Great local knowledge, fantastic Maori culture, amazing knowledge of the area and a real Maori Experience! So passionate and welcoming yet very humble and sharing. You can see why he is an asset to the tourist industry in the area and it really made us feel like locals. All of the wineries he chose were local family owned so this also supported the local economy. I thought I knew my wines but Joe knew how they were made, the differences between the grapes, and how the locals make their products stand out. A beautiful part of the country shared with us by a real Local!
