You will eat where the locals eat at small, family-run businesses and try the best local food at places you can’t find on your own. After 3 hours, you will finish at a local brewery to have a pint of the only craft brew in town.

Xi'an City Wall
You will meet at an easy-to-find central location and then wind your way through the narrow streets and alleys by tuktuk within the Xi’an City Wall to find the best food in the city. We’ll take you places where only locals go. You’ll cover a lot of ground and get off the beaten path to family-run restaurants that you (and other tourists) won’t find on your own. Between food stops, you’ll be able to chat with your English-speaking guide about the city while drinking unlimited chilled beer and soda during the ride.
Muslim Quarter
While visiting our 4-5 food stops, you will get to learn about the families that have been making their specialties for generations. You’ll watch your food being made and learn about what makes it so special to Xian locals. Whether it’s sitting by an old man grilling meat over coals in a quaint Muslim Quarter alleyway, or watching noodles hand-pulled to order, there is something to try for everyone. The tour will finish at the only local brewery in Xian where you can tour the facility and sample what’s on tap before we treat you to a pint of your choice.

It is a great experience to try local restaurants that are out of the way and learn about the traditions at the same time

This was a great food tour. The tuktuks were the perfect way to travel in the muslim quarter. Our guide, Diehl, provided explanations and history of the different foods. We had biang biang noodles, skewers, dumplings and guord chicken. You finish at a tap room to sample beer. A unique experience!

Diehl was a great guide! There were 7 in our group. The food was amazing and the history we learned was a bonus. Riding in a Tuk Tuk through the narrow streets was quite an adventure. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about Xi’an and their food!

The ride on the tuk tuk itself was a fun experience to see the sights of the nightlife. Meeting the other guests was also enjoyable. The best part was the guide, Neveah, and the food tasting!

Easy meeting place to find. Tuk tuks a novelty but quicker to walk to some venues. So much food! Arrive hungry and all delicious. Felt a little rushed at times and lacked some storytelling from the guides on what the food was, the history and how to eat it like a local. I think the group size could have been smaller. It was only 10 but hard to get tables in some restaurants.

Our guide Jane was knowledgeable and funny and a great host. The 4 food stops were tasty and all quite different and the tuk tuk’s were suitably chaotic driving around the Muslim Quarter.

What a brilliant tour! Buren, our guide, was superb. Each stop gave us a different aspect of Xi’an’s gastronomical culture and we all tried loads of tasty new things. Can thoroughly recommend.
