  Excellent. The Tuk Tuk ride was a highlight, narrow busy streets. 6'4" in those little things was a blast. The food and guide were delicious and she was so o knowledgeable of the local area and local culture

  Buren was a great host! I've done 4 lost plate tours now and he kept the standard high. Food was good, he was attentive and kind. Can't recommend it enough.

  We joined the Lost Plate food tour after having a wonderful experience in Shanghai and decided to load more food tours with Lost Plate . Our guide Amber was wonderful. It was pouring rain and we were hesitant, but surprised by the Tuk-tuks arranged for us. The restaurants we went to had their specialty dishes and we're family oened.The food was fabulous and over the top delicious. During the tour we also learned about the food history of the restaurant - one restaurant used a special butcher and the grandmother went there every morning at 430am and then prepped the meat herself, her son did the BBQ. We learned how to eat from hot skewers safely Another restaurant was delicious pot stickers cooked with and without soup fillings. Then a 8 treasure soup, which surprised me as it brought back memories of my grandmother over 40 years ago. Amber, our super guide told me this happens quite often and doesn't surprise her to hear this from foodies on tour. You will never find the selected restaurants on your own, this tour and others offered are one of a kind. I am writing from the USA as I finally had a moment to write. Don't miss this food tour and the others offered for other cities. Besides the historical sites, the food in each city lends to the historical silk road history and adds another dimension to your trip.

  We had a great one. It was lovely driving the back streets. The food was good and our guide Jane was really helpful and knowledgeable. Ending with a beer was great too.

  This was so much fun in the tuk tuk and showed us parts of Xi’an that you would not normally visit. Great food and great company. The guide was fantastic and looked after us so well. Would totally recommend.

  Such a brilliant experience - delicious food in a variety restaurants tucked away in the Arab quarter followed by a delicious local beer. Diehl, our guide, was fantastic. Informative, engaging and entertaining.

  We had a most enjoyable experience with our tour guide Jialin, who enlightened us not only about cuisine in Xian, but also on wider cultural and historical aspects of the city. The food was great and varied and the main advantage of these tours is that you get brought to eateries which you certainly would not have discovered yourself. The tuktuks added additional value to the tour, as it saves you from walking around from place to place and your stomach from getting upset! The pace of the tour was quite relaxed, and we didn't feel rushed at all. Officially the tour lasts around 3-3.5 hrs, but we had so much fun we ended chatting at the last stop (a brewery/bar) for some time after. The tour is expensive given how cheap eating out is in Xian, but the knowledge gained and relaxation from not having to do any thinking makes the price well worth it. As for what we actually ate... it would rather spoil it to write it down in a review; however, it was traditional cuisine that was all very tasty!

  The tour was exceptional. We ate at several different places and our guide was informative, fun and very engaged. I will do this again on my next trip to Xi'an

  The Muslim Quarter (where we were for 3/5 of our stops) can be kind of overwhelming with endless options and no easy way to tell what’s best, so having Jialin was a lifesaver. He picked excellent spots with a good mix of different foods that were all super delicious, and I also thought the tour was very well-paced. Really appreciated his friendly demeanor and great communication throughout the night too; felt like we got to know him really well by the end of the night! Overall an awesome experience.
