The adventure to arrive at these locations are quite interesting, safely boating on a freshwater lake, a memorable jungle trek and not to mention the historic information and value of these sites. You get to encounter, wildlife, experience a bit of adrenaline rush on your scenic hike and learn a way of historic life events of the ancient Mayas.

ITINERARY 7:00am Transportation from Flores or Belize Western border to Ecolodge El Sombrero in Yaxha to get the boat to Topoxte. 9:00am The boat departs the lodge to the island of Topoxte across the Yaxha lagoon. A Post Classic settlement with evidence of occupation during the Classic Period under the influence of Yaxha. Here, the Principal Plaza has been excavated and restored so you can go up some structures. The adventure continues with a boat ride to the north side of the lagoon to start a 2-hour trek through the jungle immersing yourself in nature. You walk under the canopy of the trees learning about the flora and fauna of the area. Upon arriving at the Maler Plaza of Yaxha, you will take a break, rehydrate and have your Picnic Lunch. The third part of this adventure to explore the city of Yaxha with your guide. You visit the highlights of the city, the main temples, royal palaces, Ball courts and the iconic Temple of the Red Hands. You end your visit with spectacular view before driving back to your hotel.

5.00Incredible experience! Miguel was too notch with a flair for historical context and an intimate knowledge of the jungle. I learned so much and really felt like I could connect with the rich history and culture. This is much more than just a sightseeing tour. It's immersing yourself in the environment and culture that created these magnificent Mayan cities!

5.00Friendy and knowledge guide, mr reyes and partners offer a good quality tour, if you like to explore maya ruins and learn about the rainforest in a day , is a good option, we spotted the howler mo keys and spider monkeys, the ruins of yaxha are impressive too.

5.00Great package: jeep, breakfast in wonderful lakeside setting, boat ride, island ruins, more boat, jungle hike that is the real deal but with guides knowledge is like a trip through a pharmacy & hardware store, culminating in atmospheric Yaxhe. A very memorable day that will live on in my mind. Thanks to Reyes and Luis two special people.

5.00Unfortunately, the road to Nakum was closed due to the ongoing bad weather. The organizer has alternatively offered to visit the barely developed, huge Naranjo. We were the only visitors, the drive there is adventurous, but the excellent driver has mastered the difficult passages without any problems. Naranjo is for Insiders, the jungle still has a full grip on the site, the thousands of structures are recognizable only by the shape of the terrain and densely overgrown by the rainforest. Our guide was competent and responded to our wishes. We would do it again immediately (even with him).

5.00Reyas was the best part of the experience!! He is absolutely amazing. So kind and knowledgeable and generous. We really enjoyed his tour and I would hire his service again in a heartbeat!!! Yaxha was such a beautiful and quiet Mayan site… really enjoyed having the place to ourselves, essentially.
