The Indigenous owned Yellow Water Cruises takes you on a discovery tour through the world famous Yellow Water Billabong. Operating year round, sunrise to sunset, the cruise winds its way through distinct ecosystems of Yellow Water Billabong and tributaries of the South Alligator River.

Yellow Water Cruises

Cruise Kakadu's most famous wetland and see the billabong come alive. Located at the end of the Jim Jim Creek, Yellow Water is part of the South Alligator River system. This river system is unique as it is included in its entirity within a UNESCO World Heritage listed National Park. Cruise along with a knowledgeable guide who will provide commentary about the area and the various species of animals that call this waterway home.

This was a great experience. Our tour guide Dennis was brilliant. It was like being part of a David Attenborough Our Planet episode. It was great to see a variety of Australian wildlife including crocs and everything well explained (and funny).

Gecko was a superb informative and entertaining guide on our Yellow Water sunset cruise yesterday What a magical experience - the wildlife, the birds, the lush green vista, the light and sunset Absolutely fantastic Topping our experience were the two crocodiles were sparring and sizing each other up - amazing sight!!! Gecko underplayed how special this was!!

What a wonderful experience. We so enjoyed our sunset cruise and our captain was not only a wealth of knowledge on the area and indigenous culture but had a great sense of humour. We saw many birds and beasts and cruising back as the sun set listening to the sounds of nature was a truly magical experience. We were lucky to go after the big wet season rains so everything was so lush. Highly recommend this tour.

Our guide Megan was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. We were fortunate to see an abundance of birds and a saltwater croc. Would definitely recommend this cruise.

The 9.00am tour was perfect for us! Not too early in the morning, and not as crowded as the earlier tour, which we saw had several bus loads of passengers. We had a lovely tour group of 10, and our guide Dennis (with two n's) was knowledgeable, entertaining and most importantly allowed us all plenty of time to sit and observe the abundant birdlike and the crocodiles, which thankfully were not active! A beautiful way to spend the morning, enjoying the wetlands and its wildlife.

A great experience! Our guide, Geoff, was extremely knowledgeable on plants, animals and local culture. He was enthusiastic, articulate and provided the right amount of humour. He was able to spot and point out birds and animals we would have missed, and skillfully manoeuvred the boat to give us close up views - including numerous large crocodiles .
