Java Island hosts many beautiful landscapes, interesting UNESCO heritage sites, stunning volcanoes, some surfing spots, snorkeling spots, and many more. On this tour, we will start our journey from Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta is located in the center of Java Island. In Yogyakarta, you can visit the real Javanese Culture which you can see from the local people here and also the places that you will visit. Prambanan Temple, Sultan Palace, Malioboro Street, Kali Adem in Mount Merapi, and also the neighborhood of Borobudur temple located in Magelang Town, it’s 2 hours away from Yogyakarta.
After Yogyakarta, we will invite you to try the executive class of our train from Yogyakarta to Surabaya (4 hours ride). From the window, you can see the rice fields, local villages, and also small towns after Yogyakarta. Surabaya is the capital of East Java, East java hosts the 2 best places to visit during the trip, Mount Bromo, and Ijen Crater.

Important Information for all travellers who are going to book this trip: Every first Friday of the month, Mount Ijen is closed for one day. So, please make sure you check the date of your booking.
Ijen Crater is now open as usual and safe to visit. However, due to natural conditions, the blue fire is temporarily not visible. Please remember to always follow safety guidelines during your visit.
Important News from Borobudur Temple There will be no sunrise tour anymore on the top of the temple and no one is allowed to visit the top of the temple as well. From now on, we can only see the BOROBUDUR TEMPLE at the bottom of the temple and for sunrise, we will go to Setumbu Hill. Good news: There is a trial to climb up to the top floor but with special shoes and additional cost for it. it's still not so sure when this trial stops or continues.

Borobudur temple tour will start from the airport/train station in Yogyakarta, our staff will meet you at the airport/train station then we will drive from Yogyakarta to Borobudur temple area for about 1,5 hours, Upon your arrival in Borobudur temple area, you will be staying overnight there before you do Borobudur sunrise tour tomorrow morning.

Borobudur Temple
Borobudur temple is best seen at dawn when the air is fresh and full of birdsong. As the mist begins to lift, the sun scales the surrounding volcanoes and terraced fields and highlights the stone reliefs and the many faces of Buddha. Glimpsing Borobudur for the first time is often a deeply felt emotional experience. Borobudur sunrise tour offers a different experience where participants were given a special pass to enter the monument early in the morning at approximately 4:30 am before public visitors and visitors have to walk from the hotel to Borobudur with a pre-dawn stroll through the dewy grass of a lush tropical garden. A super scenery and a very beautiful morning at Borobudur temple could be seen when the sun would appear from the horizon. A truly impressive experience!
Prambanan Temples
Around 9:00 am, our staff will meet you at your hotel for doing the next tour, that is city tour around Yogyakarta city. We will be visiting Prambanan Temple for the first stop and we will have a lunch in the local restaurant in Yogyakarta area.
Yogyakarta Palace
We will be visiting Sultan Palace, Water Castle, Silver accessories place and Batik place. Then, we will drive to your hotel in Yogyakarta for staying overnight. Free leisure

After having breakfast around 6:00 am/10:30 am, our staff will pick you up and then go to Tugu Train Station, because the train leaves Yogyakarta around 6:45 am/11:30 am and arrives at Surabaya Gubeng Train Station around 10:45 am/ 15:30
Mount Bromo
After arriving in Surabaya Gubeng train station, our staff will meet you at Surabaya Gubeng Train Station then continue our trip to Mt. Bromo area and stop on the way for having lunch in the local restaurant. This trip will take about 3 – 4 hours and upon your arrival in Mt Bromo, having dinner and stay overnight at Lava View Lodge or similar hotel for enjoyable stay.

Mount Bromo
Mount Bromo tour will be started around at 3:30 AM (when you come to Mount Bromo on the weekend, we have to start the tour earlier), the jeep will bring you to the most famous viewpoint on Mount Bromo area. That is Penanjakan hill, from the hill we can see the best sunrise in East Java with mountains and volcanoes as a background. Afterward, the jeep will continue your adventure holiday to reach the sea of sands in Mount Bromo area. We will stop at the parking area then you will cross the sea of sands by riding a horse or on foot (it is optional) till reaching the stairs at the slope of Mount Bromo where it will lead you to reach the peak of Mt. Bromo. After enjoying the volcanic activity on the top of Mount Bromo, you have to go back to your jeep then the jeep will bring you back to the hotel for breakfast, take shower, pack up, loading bags into our car.
Banyuwangi
Then, we will continue our trip to to the Hotel in the area of Ijen Crater Banyuwangi Town) for about 5-6 hours. In this route, we will pass rural landscape, small cities, rice fields, plantations, and beach. Lunch will be served on the way at the local restaurant. About at late afternoon or in the early evening, we will be reaching your hotel in Ijen Crater area which is only an hour away from Ijen Crater. You will be staying overnight here before you enjoy Ijen Crater trekking on the next morning.
Ijen Crater Tour/Ijen Blue Fire Tour - Transfer to Bali area
Ijen Crater Indonesia
Ijen crater tour will start at 5:00 am, our car will bring us to the village of Licin and then continue to the slope of Ijen Crater, you will be passing through the plantations and rainforest. This is one of few remaining on the island of Java with giant ferns, plants & big trees. This journey takes approximately an hour from the hotel. Arriving at the parking area of Ijen Crater, about 1 until 1.5 hours will be required to hike Ijen Crater. Along the walking path, you will enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air and bird’s singing. Upon your arrival at the peak of Ijen Crater with an altitude of about 2385 mAsl. You will be amazed at the enchanting panorama of Ijen Crater; it has the lake of acid water where the water changes to be turquoise color. The view will be so picturesque when you take the photo from above the crater. OPTIONAL PROGRAM; If the weather is good enough and you still have good condition, you can take Ijen blue fire tour at Ijen Crater but you are required to leave the Hotel or Homestay around 1:00 AM or Midnight. Please check the picture of the blue fire at Ijen Crater on the Internet.
Bali
After enjoying the breakfast at the Hotel, we will transfer you to ferry harbour and take an hour sailing to reach ferry harbour in Bali island. Upon your arrival there, you will be welcomed again by our Balinese driver who is ready to escort you back to your hotel in Bali. 5.00We booked a multi-day trip with Java Adventure Tours starting from Yogyakarta and got to experience the highlights of Java: Prambanan Temple, Borobudur Temple, Mount Bromo, Tumpak Sewu Waterfall, and the Ijen Volcano. Everything was perfectly organized and ran smoothly from start to finish. What really made the trip special was our guide in East Java, Ari. He was extremely knowledgeable, well connected, and always shared useful information with us. Thanks to his experience and timing, we often arrived at the sights before anyone else, which allowed us to enjoy the places in peace and take beautiful photos without the crowds. Ari created a great atmosphere throughout the journey and made the whole experience unforgettable. We are extremely satisfied and can highly recommend Java Adventure Tours – and especially Ari – to anyone planning to explore Java!

5.00To start with: the whole tour has been organised excellently: communication with Sofyan and the guides/drives, transfers, accommodation, meals and the activities. We never had to queue anywhere and didn't have to worry about a thing. The guides are very knowledgeable, answered all our questions and provided recommendations for lunch and dinner. The tour (5D 4N) - Yogyakarta: the temples were our highlight and we had excellent local tour guides during our visit in both Borobudur and Prambanan. In the end, we would have loved to spend even more time in Prambanan (Sultan Palace and Water Castle are nice to see, but we would definitely recommend the temples more). A special thanks to our driver Adam who always ensured our well-being. - Volcano tour (Bromo, Ijen including Blue Fire/crater): we have enjoyed the great sunrise at Bromo and hiking up the volcano. Climbing Ijen and walking down to the crater have been an unforgettable experience. Our tour guide Hamid was amazing and we take so many great memories home (he not only took care that we get the best views, but also had always a helping hand when going down the crater. Moreover, he is a great fotographer too). We would also like to thank Rico, our driver, for managing the Indonesian traffic so well. Both made the tour unforgettable! 😊

5.00First of all: excellent organisation. The tour is extremely well planned: transfers, accommodation, meals and most activities are explained in advance on the website. We didn't have to worry about a thing, which was a particularly pleasant change for us as backpackers. The guides are always flexible when it comes to spontaneous changes and new destinations along the way, which you can find on social media :) You really get to experience a lot: temples in Yogyakarta and the surrounding area (Borobudur, Prambanan), volcanoes (Bromo, Ijen including Blue Fire/crater), nature and landscapes, and cultural insights. Because Indonesia is so huge, you often have to cover long distances: this gave us plenty of opportunities to relax in the car and discuss our experiences. Finally, I would like to explicitly praise all the drivers and guides: they really make the tour an experience!🙏 Special thanks go to our guides Dino and Adam, who always found the perfect balance between culture, information and fun. (Also, they're really talented photographers if you're looking to perfect your social media presence)

5.00It was a very nice exciting and educational trip! First we explored the temples around Yogyakarta and learned a lot about their history there, then we went on to Volcano bromo and iljen! The weather was perfect and our guides were always very friendly, English skills would be very good, very likeable, and very eager to give us a good time! In Yogyakarta we additionally looked at the chickenchurch this was a real insider tip!

5.00The Java Tour was unique, diverse and beautiful! Everything was very well structured and we were well accompanied. With Yogi and Yudi we were on the road for a few days, they are a great duo, Yogi did all the bigger hikes with us and showed us many great tips and tricks. He is very experienced and knows felt all other guides in the area;-) all in all the accommodations were well selected and we felt comfortable and safe throughout!

5.00My girlfriend and I chose Java East Trail for our trip to Indonesia and couldn't have made a better choice. The organization was impeccable from start to finish: everything well planned but with an authentic traveler imprint, which privileges real experiences and not just as a tourist. One aspect that we particularly appreciated is the choice to leave often very early in the morning: the early wake-up calls allowed us to experience unique places such as Prambanan, Borobudur, the Bromo volcano, the Tumpak Sewu waterfalls and the majestic Ijen without the crowds, being able to capture all the beauty and spirituality. Special thanks to our drivers, Andy and Dani, always kind, punctual and available for every need. Special thanks go to Theo, the guide who accompanied us in the last three activities: prepared, competent and always with a smile, he made the experience even more enriching. 5.00It was a highly recommended tour with unforgettable impressions! The organization in advance about Zofian was super professional and good, the hotels booked really great. Our guides (Adam and Tegarr) were great. Attentive, warm and really impressive in their knowledge. Tegarr, in particular, knew exactly the right spots and was encouraging when the trail became strenuous. The restaurants suggested by the two guides were always very delicious and beautiful. The cars were modern, with AC and always enough water, our driver (“Mr. Bams”) very safe, attentive and courteous.

5.00We booked a 3-day private tour with Java Adventure Trail and had an incredible experience from start to finish. Our guide, Tono, and driver, Dani, picked us up in Sorabaya and drove us all the way to East Java to start our adventure. From there, we explored Mount Bromo and Kawah Ijen before they accompanied us right to the boat that took us to Bali. Tono was an exceptional guide — always on time, super friendly, and full of great tips for getting the best views. He also shared interesting stories about the local culture, history, and nature, which made the journey much more enriching. He was always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves, and even helped us take some fantastic photos along the way. Dani was an excellent driver, navigating long distances and winding roads with complete professionalism. We always felt safe in his hands, and he made the journey smooth and relaxing. Both of them were incredibly accommodating, and made sure everything ran perfectly. From sunrise over Bromo to the surreal blue fire and crater lake at Ijen, every moment was unforgettable. Everything was so well organized that we could just focus on enjoying the scenery and the adventure. We recommend Java Adventure Trail, especially if you get to travel with Tono and Dani. They turned what was already an amazing itinerary into a truly memorable experience!

5.00Travel as a couple, we were accompanied by local guides available, prepared and very nice. Each experience (visit to Yogyakarta, Mount Batur and Ijen) is enriched by the experience of the guides who know perfectly the right time to start, the best spots to take photos and in general what you need to enjoy the experience. The facilities booked by them for the various overnight stays are of an excellent level. In general, it's a tour that really lets you get your brain off because they think about everything excellently.
