As we continue driving, a stunning natural formation that gets its name from the way it resembles an elephant walking off into the distance. As you stand here, you'll be mesmerized by the unique shape of the rock and the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The rock has been shaped by centuries of natural erosion, and it serves as a reminder of the power of nature to create and transform the world around us. While many people come to Elephant Rock simply to marvel at its beauty, others see it as a symbol of the resilience and strength that we all possess. The tour is over 75+ miles long, with more than 78+ audio stories, and takes about 3-4 hours to complete.
Our drive takes us over a majestic craggy mountain standing taller than anything else in the surrounding landscape. As you stand here, you'll be struck by the sheer scale and grandeur of this natural wonder.

Lots of twist and turns on the mountain....somewhat scary BUT worth every second. So much beauty. Give yourself time to get out and observe things too.

This was a great addition to our experience. We were alerted to attractions we would have driven past. It was helpful without being overly intrusive.

This is the perfect tour if you want something personal in your own vehicle. The suggest hikes on the tour were wonderful. Be sure to follow the instructions prior to arriving to Yosemite as there is no service at the park. We followed all the steps and everything worked perfectly!

After figuring out that needed to download Action Tour Guide App to actually use, it was extremely beneficial!! Had four different routes to use. We came in from south entrance and left one day from hwy 140 route. Was able to use without cell service which was extremely helpful!!

This self-guided audio tour was one of the best ways to experience Yosemite. PROs: • We were in the comfort and warmth of our own vehicle • We could stop at our leisure and take in the views without feeling rushed • We could very easily go back in the audio and listen to the commentary again if we didn't hear what was said • When we got back on the road, the tour automatically picked up where we left off — They knew exactly where we were based on GPS - even though we were offline (there's no signal in the park.) CONs: • Once we reached the starting point address and pulled over, it was a little unclear what road to get on to begin the tour. The map wasn't showing up on my phone, so we ended up starting on the wrong road. But we went back to the starting point and looked at the printed map the Ranger gave us at the entrance and figured out what road we needed to get on. • There were a few times when the audio did not play when we drove through the numbered "checkpoint"...so I had to hit "play" manually on the audio. But it eventually picked up and started doing it automatically again. • The only thing I would add would be a better way to match our location on the tour to the printed map provided by the park ranger. Perhaps if they called out what the name of the roads were in the audio so we could figure out where we were more easily. OVERALL, it was a fantastic way to see the park. Highly recommend!!!
