This action pack day will start by visiting two natural rock waterslides, one for beginners and another for the adrenaline seekers, swimming in natural water holes and jumping from rocks.
Then will head to a serene freshwater natural pool where the more adventurous will be able to jump from a rope swing and others will just float, swim or relax in the river bank. All this surrounded by green lush areas and after first doing a short hike to admire the local plants and trees. End up this perfect day by relaxing at a beautiful popular beach with few waves and calm waters.
In this excursion we will not enter the official El Yunque National Rainforest for sightseeing, but rather visit the less touristy spots and local water fun areas on the outskirts of the Rainforest for a more adventurous experience.
This tour requires some physical fitness, balance, hiking and basic swimming skills. Minimum age is 3 years old. Minimum tour group size is 4 people.

Luquillo
First visit is a privately own local spot. The area has beautiful volcanic rock formations to walk around, a small waterfall and a natural swimming hole where you can jump from rocks. The main attractions are two natural rock waterslides, one for beginners and another for the adrenaline seekers, that will make everybody have a great time. After all this action is time to relax later for about one hour at the beautiful popular Luquillo beach, with few waves and calm waters, before heading back to your hotel.
Rio Grande
This stop is at the rainforest outskirts with its green and lush scenery. We will have a guided short hike by a certified tour guide through a trail that leads to another river and a serene freshwater natural pool, while admiring local the plants and trees around. Here, the more adventurous will be able to jump from a rope swing and others will just float, swim or relax in the shallow areas of the river.

5.00We had the best tour with Yamile! The rainforest and swimming tour did not disappoint. Yamile’s vibrant, energy and passion for her country shines through in her work. The kids enjoyed the natural waterslides, the natural pools, jumping off the rocks and the rope swing so much. Yamile was very thorough in giving us all the tips and tricks before we embarked on any of those adventures to keep us as safe as possible. The knowledge and education she provided us kept us all very entertained and helped us to better appreciate the beauty of PR. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a tour thru the rainforest. Our first trip to PR will always be remembered thanks to her and her love for what she does. Thank you Yamile!!

5.00Jamila was amazing. Our kids just raved about our experience on the trip! We were a group of 4 adults + 4 kids (10,8,6,3). We were with another family with kids 6&8. Review from our 10 year old: she was friendly. She treated us like family. She wasn’t afraid to get wet with us. She knew all of the right places to step so no one got hurt. She maintained a great schedule- and was flexible. We always had the time we wanted at each place. She was a great photographer. She had helpful tips and knew the hidden/less visited areas! She was very accommodating- translated the lunch menu, encouraged the kids to play while waiting for the food. It didn’t feel like it was her job. It felt like she was showing what she loved to her family! Would 100000000000000000x recommend booking with her! We will book with her again when we come back!

5.00Our family of 4 had such a great time with Yamile! She went out of her way to make sure we had a memorable experience. We initially planned on doing the river/cave tour, and went as far as going to the river site - but rainy weather made the river too dangerous and Yamile smartly called it off. I appreciated her putting safety first and not risking it, even though everyone was a little disappointed. Yamile ended up taking us on the rainforest/waterslide/rocksliding tour later in the week, which was a blast. My boys loved the waterslide and jumping off the rope swing (even my 7 year old, who is usually a little timid in such circumstances). We capped it off with a great time at the local beach, ate at a terrific local restaurant. Can't recommend this tour enough.

5.00This tour was so much fun! Our family had the best time with Yamile! She was so fun and knowledgeable. We have young boys, and she made the tour perfect for them. They have been telling all their friends that the rainforest tour was their favorite part of their trip. Do yourself a favor and book with Yamile! You won’t regret it!

She was knowledgeable about everything- the history of Puerto Rico, the plants , the birds, the food - we all felt comfortable asking questions and she taught us a lot about the culture! She is smart and high energy and made sure everyone in our group was having fun! I highly recommend any tour she offers !

5.00Jamile was wonderful! She knew when to get us to the popular spots to avoid the crowds. The van was comfortable and the day was a perfect balance of adventure and beach for my kids. We can’t wait to come back and try another adventure with her.

5.00Yamile and Puerto Rico As A Local is the Best! Period! The Yunque trip was my second tour with Yamile (Arenales River Caving was the other trip). Each time the group of friends and new-found-friends had a blast learning about and getting immersed in the riches of PR, it's lovely people, wonderful foods, incredible scenery, and spectacular diverse natural resources. We had so much fun as adults tapping into our inner kids exploring little known gems and then feasting on delicious local treats, while being led by thee best tour guide, Yamile. We already have plans to be back next year for the Utuado Canyon tour!
