  I’ve done quite a few walking tours over the years, but the Herstory Derry Tour was genuinely one of the most memorable. Anne is a fantastic guide – incredibly knowledgeable, engaging and clearly passionate about the stories she tells. What makes this tour so special is that it shines a light on the women who are often missing from traditional accounts of Derry's history. It offers a fresh and fascinating perspective on the city, bringing to life the experiences, achievements and influence of women from different periods of Derry's past. Anne has a real gift for storytelling. The tour was packed with interesting facts and insights, but it never felt like a history lecture. Instead, it felt like uncovering hidden stories around every corner, with Anne's warmth, humour and enthusiasm keeping us engaged throughout. Whether you're visiting Derry for the first time or think you already know the city well, this tour will leave you seeing it in a completely new way. I came away having learned a huge amount and with an even greater appreciation for the city's rich history. Highly recommended – a real highlight of my visit.

  This tour was the best decision we made! Anne is a stable of the community, and a storyteller through and through. She deftly weaves together the wider narratives about Derry, the Irish history, and her personal stories and knowledge. Her commitment to the women's movement of Derry and her personal herstory with the city makes for rich and nuanced insight. We also loved how intimate our tour was. As we walked around we passed absolutely giant groups of people in other tours, having to keep pace with one another. Meanwhile our party of 2 could go at a pace and tempo which felt right and appropriate for us, making the walking tour accessible. Thank you Anne. 😊

  Jumped on this tour on a rainy Easter Monday when the town was quiet due to the holiday. A great experience and a really interesting take on the history of Derry and all the wonderful women who have shaped its history. The tour is one hour so perfect for those with limited time in the city. Great to hear different stories. Must do tour.

  Anne came out to give the two of us a tour and we had a lovely time walking around the city. Not only was she very knowledgeable about the history of Derry and particularly the women, many of whom were forgotten, but we also spotted places we want to spend more time visiting that we might not have found on our own :)
