Hands-on training with a well-known international Thai Chef, Wandee Rathanapan who recently has been choosen as a Teacher for 2 finalists Amazon Prime Series; "The World Cook Season 2" . Wandee worked as a Thai Chef in different countries such as New Zealand and Iceland and more . More than 10 years as Chef and cooking teacher and 7 years as Food Tour Leader .
Cooking in a lovely open air kitchen and beautiful garden environment of Khao Lak Center.
Unique cooking techniques in the tradition Thai ways that only an experienced Thai chef can teach you. Authentic way of making each dish such as curry from scratch and fresh ingredients such as fresh coconut milk, herbs, veggies, meat and seafood.
Own cooking station for all students including a gas stove, own cutting board with all knives, spoons and spatulas, a mortar, an apron, and hand towels.
Gluten free,Vegan and Vegetarian dishes are one of my specialties, and let's not forget that I am used to cook with children as well.

We will pick you up from your hotel between 9:30 - 10:00 AM (Morning class) , 3:00-3:30 PM (Afternoon class). Then we go to the local fresh market in order to learn about the ingredients you will use while cooking; Thai herbs, vegetables, spices used in the homemade chili pastes. You will also learn about where everything at the market comes from; seafood, fresh coconut milk, meats, and all the tropical fruit. While at the market you will also have the opportunity to shop for yourself. - Back at the cooking class you will cook by using the ingredients from the market. - Learn to make the curry pastes from scratch and cook with your own homemade curry paste. - With Wandee's many years of experience you will learn about traditional cooking methods, as well as learn to cook royal Thai recipes. - Q&A session at every cooking class. - The recipes of what you cook will be available after the class. - Amazing cooking environment in a new bamboo hut in the garden.

Deep fried pork minced mix with herb and wrapped with lemongrass. Serve with sweet chilli sauce

Kaeng Chu Chi Pla( Traditional Southern curry from scratch).
A selection of Andaman fish cooked it with homemade curry paste from scratch and fresh coconut milk from our local market.

Bualoi (Thai riceball in warm coconut milk)
Traditional Thai dessert made from stickey rice flour and special ingredients. Unique preparation. Boil in hot water and cook in warm coconut milk.

Yam Som O (Pomelo Salad)
Super fresh and full of colour dish, Pomelo mix in traditional dressing salad such as fish sauce, lime, chilli oil and sugar. Refreshing and tasteful.

5.00This experience was worth every minute. This class is so well organized and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. Everyone was knowledgeable, personable, and kind. They made the experience both fun and exciting. They spent the time to explain the details of the ingredients and the nuances of Thai cooking. They spent the time reaching out beforehand to understand any dietary limitations, or allergies and then to understand your palate preferences. As we were cooking together, they made on the fly adjustments to ensure every person in our party had the best experience. I cannot recommend this experience enough. This is a must do if you are in the Khao Lak area.

5.00Fantastic afternoon, loved the friendliness of the staff and group, market shopping and identifying the numerous items used in Thai cuisine The cooking at the school was a great experience and the outcome we cooked was yummy. That's guys for great afternoon and would highly recommend this activity to others in the future.

5.00It was an all-around great afternoon. The pickup was perfect, and Sarah showed and explained everything wonderfully at the market. At the cooking school, we were warmly welcomed by the rest of the team, received everything as requested, explained, and were able to cook everything ourselves. We laughed a lot and are taking a lot of knowledge and a wonderful day home in our hearts. Many thanks to this great team.

5.00We prepared traditional Thai dishes. Before that, we visited a market and bought the ingredients directly. Super nice team on site, they pay attention to preferences, allergies, etc. in their preparation. The food was super delicious. Highly recommended. It saved our rainy day. Thank you!

5.00My wife and I did the afternoon cooking class on 30th May. We had so much fun. The pick up was smooth from our hotel. Our host was very friendly and good chat. The market was eye-opening. We learnt lots and nothing was pushed on us (like on other tours). And now we’re basically expert chefs :p

5.00We booked this for my husband’s birthday. 2 couples booked in a group of ten. So great. A visit to the markets first then cooking and a three course lunch. Such a great experience. All staff excellent but chef Wandee amazing. Xo

5.00The whole experience was exciting and fun, from the stop at the market with Sarah to purchase provisions. Sarah gave us a wonderful and informative tour then onto tge main event - Wandee and her staff were wonderful making the class a fantastic experience, great fun....... what can I say about the dishes we prepared - yum yum yum. Highly recommend.........

5.00We were collected from our hotel taken to the market where Sarah showed us around and explained to us all about the different herbs and spices We then headed to the venue where we made 2 starters 2 mains which were both yumm and so much we couldn’t eat it all Every step was well explained it was a great fun
