Important Note: Many travelers have a question in their minds: Can they catch a flight after finishing the tour for the next day? Yes, you can do the Ellora Caves and Local Tour comfortably and catch the flight after noon. We will drop you off at the airport anytime between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Shoes have to be taken out in some caves in Ajanta. If you want to avoid it, then you can carry polythene socks together.
Note : Ajanta Caves are closed every Monday. Ellora Caves are closed every Tuesday.

Morning: 7:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. departure from Aurangabad Your two-day journey begins with an early-morning departure from Aurangabad. Your guide will pick you up from your selected pickup point in Aurangabad and proceed to Ajanta Caves. Ajanta is at a distance of 100 km from Aurangabad; it will take 2 hours to reach here. Ajanta Caves, which are known for their rich historical and cultural heritage, This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a complex of 30 rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments carved into the rocks of the Waghora River valley. Which is from the second century BC. Marvel at the intricate sculptures, stunning frescoes, and grand architecture that tell stories of the Buddha's life and Buddhist legends. After sightseeing 1 or 2 pm: Lunch at a local restaurant Enjoy a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant offering traditional Indian cuisine. After lunch, return to Aurangabad. Say goodbye to the enchanting Ajanta Caves and return to Aurangabad, where you will check in at your hotel.

7:00 a.m. Have breakfast at the hotel. Start your day with a hearty breakfast that fuels your day's adventures. 8:00 am: Departure for Ellora Caves Set out on a scenic 1-hour drive to Ellora Caves, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, located about 30 km from Aurangabad. 9:00 a.m.: Explore Ellora Caves Arrive at the Ellora Caves, a stunning complex of rock-cut temples and monasteries representing three different religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. Start your exploration with the magnificent Kailash Temple (Cave 16), a monolithic marvel dedicated to Lord Shiva. Take a short break and then continue exploring the Ellora Caves, exploring other spectacular caves in Ellora, including the Jain caves with intricate carvings and the Hindu caves depicting elaborate stories from Hindu mythology. 1:00 pm: Lunch Enjoy a sumptuous lunch at a local restaurant while enjoying the diverse flavors of Indian cuisine. After lunch, proceed to Bibi Ka Maqbara.
Bibi Ka Maqbara
2:00 pm: Visit Bibi Ka Maqbara Bibi Ka Maqbara, which is 30 kilometers from Ellora caves and 7 kilometers from Aurangabad city, was built by Azam Shah, son of the last Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, in memory of his mother. 3:00 PM: Return to Aurangabad End your two-day tour of Ajanta and Ellora Caves and return to Aurangabad with a treasure trove of memories and a deeper understanding of India's rich cultural heritage. 4:00 PM: Return to the hotel or reach the airport or railway station for the onward journey. 5.00The guide, Sheikh, spoke fluent Japanese and the explanation was very easy to understand. Even the occasional joke helped. They explained on site the huge murals, the works that could never be removed from the statue, but the others were just rough explanations, and we were free to spend our time on our own. We had prior knowledge so that was rather good. I was able to skip the queues with my face pass and drive an electric cart to a Buddhist cave that was originally only accessible on foot in Elora. We communicated in English with Madhu, the driver. It was a pleasant drive, with a polite reception and gentle driving. The tour ended when we got back to the city on the last day, but they picked us up again around 7pm to go to the airport, which was very helpful. It may be more expensive than other tours, but it's well worth it.

5.00From booking this tour last minute, to dropping me back at the airport safely, the staff of Mr. Kaif and driver Mr. Tausif, could not have done more. Friendly and always ensuring my enjoyment, I cannot recommend this tour enough. Don't try to do it on your own... tickets, transport and guides were all included and the company was exceptional. All I had to do was sit back and enjoy. Thank you for an exceptional tour!!! 🙏🏻

What truly set this company apart was their exceptional flexibility and compassion when my son fell sick right before—and even during part of—the trip. They were incredibly understanding, adjusted the schedule without any hassle, and made sure we were comfortable every step of the way. That level of care is rare and deeply appreciated. Our tour guide, Mr. Seth, was absolutely amazing. His knowledge of Ajanta and Ellora was outstanding, and he explained the history, art, and significance of the caves in a way that was engaging, clear, and fascinating. He was patient, kind, and very attentive to our situation, always checking in to make sure we were doing okay. A special mention also goes to our driver, Mr. Madhav, whose excellent driving skills made the long journeys smooth, safe, and stress-free. He was professional, calm, and clearly very experienced—something we especially valued given the circumstances. Despite the challenges we faced, this tour turned into a truly memorable and positive experience thanks to the team’s professionalism, kindness, and flexibility. 5.00This tour was a wonderful, seamless way to visit the astonishing Ajanta and Ellora Caves. Siraj was a very knowledgeable and interesting guide; he really enhanced our understanding of what we were seeing within the caves we visited. He also managed the practicalities of our two-day tour extremely well so that everything, including our pick ups and lunch stops, went very smoothely. Our driver Mahadev was also terrific; a very safe and sensible driver, with a big, welcoming smile. This tour was one of the highlights of our two-week trip to India.

5.00The tour was well organized for a one day tour covering so much ground. The driver, Mr Kalim was very competent, the car was very comfortable. Mr Kaif provided support service far above and beyond any expectation. I complement him very highly for his attitude and help with many issues.

5.00What a fantastic experience. The marvel of workmanship from more than a thousand years ago is astounding. Mr Inder Sethi was a wonderful guide with a vast expanse of knowledge and a wonderful personality. He and gave us as much time as we wanted and our trip was greatly enhanced because of his company.

5.00I can say a top item from our Bucket List is satisfactorily ticked off thanks to the excellent tours through Viator. The locations of course are a once-in-a lifetime experience and we were keen to ensure we get the most out of our visit. We have used Viator many times before and wanted to try out this one too. We were not disappointed. We were in good hands with the excellent tour guides we had. May I give a call out to Sarang Desmukh (for Ajanta caves) who was a fund of knowledge when it came to history, Kev, the young aspiring junior guide who was very engaging and keen, Mr Ali (for Bibi Ka Maqbara and Ellora caves) who was again an expert with many years of experience and knowledge in the field, who is also an excellent photographer. Thanks also goes to Tausif who drove us to these venues - he made our travel safe and enjoyable despite the pitiable state of the roads to Ajanta caves. Thank you Viator.
