Maligne Canyon is the starting point—or finishing point—for an incredible day exploring a majestic valley. Hiking, walking, wildlife watching, geological wonders, boat rides and spectacular scenery abound here. Plus, there are super dining options and amazing views.

Medicine Lake

Located in Maligne Valley, Medicine Lake is formed by the Maligne river. When the river on its way to merge with Athabasca river, reaches the Medicine Lake area, pools up to form the Lake over a series of underground caves made of limestone. The water drains through these sinkholes to appear at the Maligne Canyon.

Athabasca Falls

Athabasca Falls is a Class 5 waterfall on the Athabasca River, the largest river system in Jasper National Park. The river and falls are fed with water flowing from the Columbia Icefield glaciers, snowmelt from surrounding mountains, and rainwater.

Sunwapta Falls and Canyon

located along the Ice-fields Parkway in Jasper National Park, Sunwapta Falls consists of upper and lower waterfalls that are fed by the Athabasca Glacier.

Tangle Creek Falls

Tangle Creek Falls is a pretty impressive multi-tiered waterfall, which is one of the many gorgeous possible stops along the Icefields Parkway.

Columbia Ice Field

Admission to the Columbia Icefield is not included, but we will stop nearby so you can get a close-up view of this breathtaking natural wonder. This ancient glacier, formed over thousands of years, still stands as a powerful reminder of the Ice Age—its presence is both majestic and humbling.

Jasper

We’ll stop for one hour in the beautiful town of Jasper, giving you time to buy your own lunch, enjoy a relaxing walk, and browse local shops in this picturesque mountain village.

Calgary

Return to Calgary, 4 hours of driving back. We will be back at night around 9:30pm.
