In the morning, your tour guide will pick you up at the airport and take you to the Sognaayilli culture village where you get to see the northern people of Ghana, learn their way of doing things and meet their interesting people. With noon comes a nice lunch at the Wooden restaurant. Afterwards you get to visit the leather and local markets before finally leaving for the main destination of the tour; Mole National Park. When you arrive at the Park after two and a half hours on the road, you'll be given some time to freshen up before the real fun begins. After dinner at 7pm, you will be driven to Mognori eco-village where you'll witness the unique dance steps and music of the people. We call it a day here and drive you back to Mole Motel where you can rest and prepare for the next day.

The second day is fun filled as this is when you begin by taking early walks and drives around the park to see animals like baboons, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs and the numerous species of birds. After this early drive comes breakfast. A visit will once again be paid to Mognori eco-village later in the day where you will get a village guided walk in addition to a canoe safari. When you return to the motel by 1pm, you'll be treated to a nice lunch and a relaxing time at the pool. A Jeep drive safari comes next at about 3:15pm after which you get to watch the captivating sunset from the viewpoint of the Mole Motel. Dinner is once again served by 7pm.

Breakfast comes quite late this morning as you will be given some time to pack you bags in preparation for departure. On your way to Tamale, you will make a stop to see the oldest mosque in all of West Africa, Laribanga mosque. It was built in the year 1421 and still stands till today. On arrival at Tamale, you will be treated to a delicious lunch at Wooden restaurant after which you'll be taken back to the airport for your departure.

5.00I’m a solo traveler and I felt so well taken care of by Manuel the entire trip. He grew up in the park and knows every inch like the back of his hand, his knowledge about the animals and kindness truly made it a worthwhile experience! I upgraded from Mole Motel to stay at Zaina Lodge and while it is pricey, for me it was completely worth it, the lodge was memorable with nighttime cultural dance and song performances in the lobby, a gorgeous view from your table during mealtimes, and the chalet itself was a luxurious experience. The package comes with different types of safaris (walking, driving, and canoe), a trip to the local mosque, Red Clay Art Studio, a leather making center, and transport to/from Tamale International Airpot. This is my first time visiting Africa and I had always wanted to do a safari trip, thank you to Grassroots Tours & Manuel for helping me check this off my bucket list, I highly recommend them!

5.00Isaac is a fantastic guide. He took good care of us: he picked us up and dropped us off at the Tamale airport, organized all the safari tours, and visits of the eco-village and old mosque in between. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and reliable. He is also very flexible: since we were in Mole during the rainy season he had to adjust our schedule according to the weather and our desires: he made it work perfectly. We highly recommend Grassroots Tours in general and Isaac in particular.

5.00I rarely get tour guides when I travel but it was my first time in Ghana for a conference and had no time to plan out my trip to Tamalè. So opted for a short tour to Molè National Park with Grassroots. And it was the best decision ever and I’m not even exaggerating. From the start our guide (and now friend), Emmanuel greeted us at the airport and spent the whole 3 days with us. He shared his experience and knowledge all throughout the trip, gave us tips and advices about what to do/not to do and I’ve learned so so much about life in Ghana and the local community. It felt like I was travelling with a friend than a tour guide. Can’t thank you enough how you’ve made us feel welcome in your country, and I’m very grateful for that. It was hard to say goodbye at the end :( , hopefully we will see each other again! Thank you for the hospitality Grassroots and Emmanuel (was nice to see Isaac too!). All the best!!

5.00Overall experience is great and we enjoyed our tour! Our guide, Emmanuel helped plan everything for us and we got some rest without thinking about the itineraries. The schedule is flexible and we were able do more safari as we wish!

5.00Absolutely loved it! Emmanuel was so kind and knowledgeable of the area. We had just finished a long week of work and were looking to have a bit more time to just relax. Emmanuel worked with us to adjust the schedule and made sure we did all the activities that were we’re looking forward to. Would love to do another tour with him in the future!

5.00Our visit to Mole was within a longer tour in Northern Ghana which included more urban settings and people-oriented activities, so together a great balance. The trips with experienced guides in canoes, 4x4 and on foot offered great variety of opportunities to admire the birds, beasts and environment, and the accommodation and food was fine - the swimming pool being an unexpected bonus

5.00My family and I had an amazing experience with Grassroot Tours. On a recent vacation to Ghana, my family and I wanted to explore the northern region, but we only had family and friends located in Accra. Since we would be going alone, I looked for a tour company that would ensure a smooth and seamless experience. From the get-go, starting with booking, Isaac was very accommodating, answering all my questions quickly and patiently waiting for my booking confirmation due to a delay in getting our visas as well as a flight cancellation. On the tour itself, our guide Emmanuel was kind, patient and very knowledgeable. He took care of transportation, tickets for the safaris, etc. It was great to explore the region worry-free, not having to think about a thing. Accommodations - Zaina Lodge was significantly more expensive than Mole motel but I’m glad we went with this option. The lodge is beautiful, the food was good and the room and view was a dream. On our last night, an elephant came to drink from the fountain at the front of the resort and the workers called us from our room to ensure we saw the epic sight. Safaris - this tour includes 2 safaris. We had a great time on both and saw several elephants on the afternoon driving safari. An added bonus is that Emmanuel was a former safari tour guide himself and was able to provide us with additional information and facts on top of the official safari leader. Overall, great experience and highly recommend!

5.00Great experience on a 3 day safari to Mole National Park and a 2 day trip to the Cape Coast. The guides- Emmanuel in Mole and Isaac in Cape Coast- were both excellent. In addition, Isaac really helped adapt the trips to ensure we were able to add things we wanted additionally, such as a visit to Global Mamas to try batik making on the Cape Coast. All in all a great few days. I’d really recommend using them.
