Each tour is lead by an experienced Navajo guide, who is certified by the Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation Dept. and National Park Service. Each and everyone of our guides was born and raised in this Canyon De Chelly area, allowing them to gain a vast knowledge of its history to share with all our guests who visit this place we call home. As well as learning about the canyon's rich history, rock art sites and other archeological sites, you will hear stories and tales of life in the canyon and get a chance (time permitted and seasonal option) to visit our guide's families who still weave, farm, ranch, and continue to live a traditional Navajo lifestyle in this rural part of the southwest. We invite you to join one of our guides on a truly unique and one of a kind tour, and to support this 100% NAVAJO OWNED and OPERATED SMALL BUSINESS!! Ahéhee' (thank you)

I'm sorry for taking so long to write this review - the tour was pretty much perfect in every way and I couldn't find the words - but procrastination has to end sometime, right? Anyway, this company came highly recommended by someone who had taken multiple tours with them, and our experience exceeded our expectations (we are a couple, and one of us generally doesn't like guided tours). On a cold, windy, gray day, we hopped in and out of a toasty Suburban to examine some of the thousands of archaeological wonders of Canyon de Chelly under the guidance of our funny, erudite, and kind guide, Leander Staley. He didn't talk at us, but to and with us. The conversation was stimulating as well as informative. We were especially impressed by his respect and reverence for the place and its people that permeated the day, and with the ease with which he communicated not only with us but seemingly with all the people of the canyon - past, present, and future. Our tour lasted four hours, by the way - the company is very flexible and presents several options for duration and group size.

This was an absolutely great way to see the canyon floor. Our guide on the tour was Leander, who also happens to be the owner of the business and is a local native Navajo. We learned a lot about the Anasazi who first lived in Canyon de Chelly, as well as the Navajo who came later. Leander knows a great deal about native archaeology and anthropology and was fantastic. I highly recommend the three-hour tour to anyone wanting to experience the beauty of Canyon de Chelly. You can follow it up with your own leisurely drive around the canyon’s rim.

The canyon is more glorious when one is taken through it with stories, kindness and a personable guide. Even with the wind blowing sand all around us, the experience was comfortable, the guide being very careful with the steering and the sand being so soft.

The guide was knowledgeable but not very engaging. She provided snacks for herself only. She didn’t get out of the car with my husband just told him where to go and look at things.

We LOVED our tour with Arianna! She knows a lot of history and is fun. She also grew up in the canyon so she has interesting stories from her childhood. She even took is to meet her family who still live in the canyon and we got some homemade fry bread! It was delicious! We loved the petroglyphs and ruins, had fun doing echos in Echo Canyon, and got totally entertained with some of her spooky spirit tales (we requested she tell us, this is not part of the normal tour) I would absolutely recommend this tour!

Ariana was a great guide! We truly enjoyed our three hour tour and she made sure to make the most of the shorter time. Meeting the family was a bonus! We even got to listen to a song by Jeriah, the Navajo Flute player. What a nice young man! Thanks again for a great time!

Ben was an awesome and experienced Dine’ guide. He picked us up early and drove us very carefully on the tour. He spoke clearly and had a lot of heart in his stories. We totally loved the experience.

We thought 3 hours would be plenty. It wasn't!!! Be sure to book a minimum of 4 hours. We also thought the ride would be very rough. It wasn't at all. Yes, there were soft sandy spots and a few holes, but all and all it was a great adventure and the jeep we where in was very comfortable.
