Sea kayaking is a great way to explore the outdoors. Not only are you closer to smaller and larger wildlife but you also experience the beauty and grandness of the coastline from a fascinating different angle.
Sea kayaking is for everybody; young and old, beginner and more experienced paddler. We use locally-made sea kayaks known for comfort and stability. You can paddle on your own or help each other by taking a tandem sea kayak; we can even place a seat in the centre hatch for the smaller children.
Don't forget your camera! Enjoy the beauty and wildness of the Salish Sea from your kayak and glide along amazing rock formations, trees and wildlife. Sea stars, crabs and anemones can be seen underneath your boat; seals and eagles are nearby. Have a break on a beach and explore the rich biodiversity of the tidal zone.

We will paddle around Saysutshun - Newcastle Island and will see beautiful rock formations, interesting trees like Arbutus and Gary Oaks and wildlife including Bald Eagles, Seals, Sea Stars and hopefully many other animals and critters. This is a guided tour and kayaks and equipment are included.

5.00Great experience! We hard à lot of fun. We saw seals, an eagle, starfish and even a racoon plus full of history facts. Thanks Richard for this Nice afternoon. The beer was very appreciated after that excursion :)

5.00We went during high tide so we were able to do the very cool cave like feature as featured on the website. Saw lots of wildlife! The guiding was super helpful and knowledgeable. It was a great trip.

5.00My husband and I had a wonderful kayak tour with Richard on our last day on Vancouver Island. We felt very safe kayaking under his direction, and we learned a lot about the area as well as different animals and sea-life from him. We even saw the infamous albino raccoon --- what a treat! We highly recommend giving sea kayaking a try with Richard!

5.00We had an absolutely perfect day on our 4 hour kayak tour with Richard! He was very friendly, professional, and extremely informative about the surrounding area and the history. He had everything we needed for a successful day out on the water. The route he took us on was absolutely gorgeous and Richard pointed out all the wildlife for us that we otherwise would’ve missed. Definitely book this tour for a wonderful day out in nature!

5.00My wife and I had a wonderful day kayaking around Saysutshun/Newcastle Island with our guide Richard. The detour to the nearby islands to see the seals, and paddle through the rock formations was such an amazing experience. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who is looking to get out on the water and experience the amazing islands and wildlife Nanaimo has to offer.

5.00We had a fabulous kayaking experience with Richard. He is very knowledgeable and experienced guide. We were initially skeptical to go with our 7 year old daughter, but we were pleasantly surprised with the way she enjoyed and Richard played a big part in it. He was very patient and kept answering all her silly and cute questions throughout the tour. He is flexible and suggested us ideal time for the tour to have a good experience. Overall, I would recommend this tour for everyone and hope we get one more go in the future.

5.00Definitely would recommend this tour to anyone! I had loads of fun and learned a lot about Newcastle and the Nanaimo region in general! Richard was fantastic and very warm and welcoming. If you were to visit Nanaimo/Vancouver Island, this tour is a must!
