Badshahi Ashurkhana
An Ashurkhana is a place of mourning for Shia Muslims on Ashura, the 10th day of Muharram. Established by Muhammed Quli Qutb Shah in 1594. As a result, the city has numerous of Ashurkhanas, after completing the Charminar to mark the new city of Hyderabad in 1591. The brilliantly colored tile-mosaic decoration was completed under Abdullah Qutb Shah in 1611. After the Mughal conquest of Hyderabad, in a display of Sunni sectarianism, Aurangzeb used it as a horse stable for the Mughal cavalry.
Pathar Gatti was built during the reign of the last Nizam of Hyderabad State, Mir Osman Ali Khan in 1911. As the building was constructed in stone or Pathar, it was named Pathargatti. It was designed by the renowned engineer Vishveshwaraiah in a distinctive Osmanian architecture style.

5.00We recommend this tour in old city walking tour, value for the money and cost of the tour quite economical with guide and entry fee. One can experience the old city culture in these 03-04 hours walk, it's a multicultural in Hyderabad with hindu, islam combination. Thanks to Guide Rajendra for knowledge on the multicultural walking tour in old city and Driver Shashi for taking us the places.

5.00for this tour we would highly recommend mr ramana . he made sure to show us all the sites, explained the deep history and culture behind them and made sure we were comfortable and having a good time. He made our day very memorable and took amazing photos of us and the sites. He also encourages us to try out experiences in and around the areas we went to. We enjoyed the tour with him so much that we booked him for another tour to Salar Jung museum and the Nizams Museum.

5.00Mr Matta was unavailable but seamlessly arranged for his colleague Mr Ramana to lead my private tour. Mr Ramana was very thoughtful from the start, adjusting my time slot to ensure I wouldn't be overwhelmed by the sun. He took care of every detail—from entry fees to buying water—and kept a close eye on me while we navigated the busy Old Center. I wasn't sure if I should book a tour at first, but as a young female solo traveler, I’m VERY glad I did. Being with a local made the whole experience much more relaxed (especially given how crowded it gets!), and I learned so much about Hyderabad, Telangana, and Indian culture through our conversations. At the end of our tour, data signal was failing, and Mr Ramana was kind enough to call a friend to book a ride for me so I made it back safely. I highly recommend the tour for anyone looking for a deep dive into the city and its culture.

He is extremely knowledgeable and competent, and he guided us on our exploration of the fascinating Hyderabad, sharing countless historical anecdotes in a very thorough and professional manner. His passion for Indian history and culture shines through in his words and is really captivating. In addition to showing us the city’s architectural and artistic treasures, Mr Matta took us to explore some local markets where the vibrant heart of Hyderabad beats. Moreover, Mr Matta’s boundless kindness and contagious smile made our memories of Hyderabad even more special!

I highly recommend anyone to do this tour even if you have limited time in Hyderabad like me during my business trip as it'll help you appreciate how India and the city of HYD became what it is today and how history influenced its present culture. Learnt so much and met lovely people. Mr Matta was very helpful and thoughtful.

4.00A very good experience. We were picked up from the hotel and taken to the sites,with a little bit of walking in-between. We had a lovely guide who was very knowledgeable. The cost was very reasonable compared to other sites. I would definitely recommend this tour 😀
