5.00A town famous for its Maheshwari saris. A capital of Holkars. A visit to its palaces, temples, ghat and chatri is a must. You can't miss paying a visit to looms where artisans are still working. A small town still able to keep its originality in this modern times

5.00First advise is - please don't plan Maheshwar and Mandu on a single day. While you may visit Maheshwar in half day, the same is not true for Mandu. Visit Maheshwar and explore its history with the help of a proper guide. It has an old palace and ghats on river Narmada. The place is clean and beautiful. The town is famous for its maheshwari sarees woven by local craftsmen. Shopping should be done from government recognised showrooms. One can stay overnight at MPTDC resort located on the banks of Narmada for which online booking is available. Day 2 should be for Mandu as a full day is a must to explore various monuments there. Also one must watch light & sound show at Hindola Mahal in Mandu which starts at 7pm & ends at 7.30pm (30 min). The first show is in Hindi and next in English. There are many good hotels and resorts in Mandu but the best is MPTDC and online booking is a must. Here the food is awesome. Also having a guide will be most important to know the history of the places and also the town. Jain can also visit famous very old jain temple close to the bus stand. The best time to visit these two places is after mansoon. Avoid summer time.

5.00Excellent although entrances were extra. Guide was very clear. Covered the top sites of Jodhpur and even a bonus visit to the Royal Crematorium.

5.00We had an amazing time on our tour to Mandu and Maheshwar. Mandu is about 2 hours from Indore and our driver was very good. We felt safe all the time during the drive. He came to pick us up exactly on time at 7:30am and it's recommended to start early. We saw many places and they were beautiful. Jahaz Mahal is something you must see as it is maybe the best place in Mandu. It looks like a ship that wanted to sail. Our guide knew so much history and explained everything. The travel company (Holidays Forever India) organised our tour very well.
