Mahabodhi Temple
The Mahabodhi Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is an ancient, but much rebuilt and restored, Buddhist temple in Bodh Gaya, marking the location where the Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment. The Bodhi Tree is inside the temple premises. Mobile phone or any other gadgets are not allowed to carry inside which can be kept at the mobile locker free of cost near the entrance gate. Camera is allowed at an extra charge.
Great Buddha Statue
The Giant Buddha statue is one of the many stops in the Buddhist pilgrimage and tourist routes in Bodhgaya, Bihar (India). The statue is 19.507 m (64.00 ft) high in meditation pose or dhyana mudra seated on a lotus in open air.The total height of the architecture is 80 ft with statue of 64 ft, lotus on which statue sits is of 6ft and the lower pedestal is of 10ft. It took seven years to complete with the help of 12,000 masons. It is a mix of sandstone blocks and red granite.[3] It is possibly the largest built in India and was consecrated on 18 November 1989 by the's 14th Dalai Lama.

4.00Though his knowledge of speaking in English was limited he was able to provide me with an excellent tour of Madabodhi temple & the surrounding area. Special mention must also be given to him for being very punctual in picking me up from the hotel.

1.00Firstly, the driver showed up with no guide. I asked about the guide and he said “you should have booked a guide if you want one”… umm I was under the impression that I did book a guide when I paid 3000 rupees for the tour and the reviews referred to a guide. They didn’t even provide the water which was mentioned in the description inclusionsz The driver proceeded to taxi me around to temples around bodh gaya. Taxi driver was a nice guy, but could offer no explanation to what I was looking at at any of the places. 3 hours into the tour, the driver said we are finished… I told him it’s advertised as a 6-8 hour tour, why the difference? He said “Oh it’s because we don’t have a guide for you”. What!?!? I said I want to see the Pragbodhi caves, since we have more time. We started driving there, then another guy jumped in the car and said “I’m the guide”. Nice of him to show up… We went to the caves. The guide spent the whole time trying to sell me on donating to his “charity” (which sounded like a scam) rather than explaining what we were seeing. After the caves, they said the tour is finished (4 hours into the tour) and dropped me to the station. When I said goodbye, the guide aggressively said “you need to pay my fee”. I told him “no chance, I’ve already paid” and left. This was a laughably disastrous tour.

5.00Thanks to Anshu I had an amazing day. Instead of the Hindu temples (I wasn’t aware I can’t go as a foreigner) we visited the Dungeshwari caves which actually made the trip even better.
Had lot of hopes but disappointed

2.00Vehicle arranged is not in good condition. For one and half day the charges are reasonable but for the condition of vehicle. Better be sure of vehicle condition etc before hiring
