During the course, you will be guided by local master artisans, guardians of a knowledge passed down through generations, who will reveal the secrets of papier-mâché, a simple material rich in expressive potential. You will decorate your own handmade Venetian papier-mâché mask, transforming it into a true masterpiece. Let your creativity run wild as you choose colours, designs and embellishments (such as feathers, glitter or trimmings....) inspired by the famous Venetian Carnival masks, symbols of mystery, beauty and freedom.But that’s not all: our passionate and knowledgeable staff will also share with you the history and fascinating stories behind Venetian craftsmanship and Carnival, uncovering anecdotes and legends that have made this celebration famous worldwide. As you listen to these stories, you will delve deeper into the essence of Venice, making your experience not only creative but culturally enriching.

5.00I highly recommend this experience. The shop was lovely and our guide was kind and patient with our small children (5, 7, and 9). It was a great activity for kids, and helped to break up a long day of walking around.

5.00Came into town with two families six adults and three children. Thought the kittens would like this. And learned something. We all had a great time. Our artistic talents all came out. The staff was very helpful. Heading some finishing touches on our masks. I was amazed how good all of them looked. Definitely a great afternoon spent. Especially for families.

5.00Wonderful experience painting the masks. The owner was sweet and accommodating. My kids (14 and 12) had alot of fun. After a day of walking around seeing the sights it was the perfect break.

5.00We had such a wonderful experience with Michela during our Venetian papier-mâché mask-making class! She was incredibly patient with our children, making the entire process fun, engaging, and stress-free for our family. Michela was not only friendly and welcoming, but also very attentive—she guided us step by step and helped each of us create exactly the masks we envisioned. Her encouragement and expertise really made a difference. She even went above and beyond by taking photos for us during the experience, which we really appreciated, and she recommended a fantastic restaurant afterward that we loved. This was such a memorable and unique experience, and Michela made it truly special. Highly recommend!

5.00It was absolutely amazing! There are mask patterns available, so if you don’t have an idea of what to make, you can find inspiration. There are lots of things you can do, and several different styles of masks. We had a wonderful time!!

5.00It was a great experience. It was only me and my friend in this workshop. The lady was there to show us what to do, gave us examples of different masks, etc. She was nice and helpful. We went a few minutes over an hour and it did feel a little rushed at the end. Overall though it was a great experience and we would do it again. You get to take the mask as a souvenir.
So friendly and fun. A must-do!

5.00Tiny week shop, two lovely ladies running the workshop. We spent longer than planned, and their kindness and patience were incredible. Full of ideas and very attentive, inspiration all around you. We are now “Carnivale-ready”!
