Starting off in the Östermalm area, popularised by the rich and the famous, we introduce you to the traditions of Swedish food. From richly flavoured and exquisite cheeses to game meat. On top of that beer that is crowned “The Gold of The North”. You get a red-carpet like infusion into the world of Swedish delights at the high end Östermalms Market Hall. Heading towards the heart of the city we will let you indulge in a traditional Swedish lunch. Along the way we will also introduce you to the crown jewel of our proud Nordic kitchen; the meatball! You will learn what types of potatoes to serve with it, why we have specific jams for it and other fun facts. Moving on we will guide you through the beautiful Kings Garden. We will pass the the area that Vogue Magazine voted the “third coolest district in the world”. The tour will end in Old Town, an area that dates back to the 13th century and consists of medieval alleyways and architecture. Here we will treat you with some traditional candy and sweets.

5.00We thoroughly enjoyed this tour with Theresa. It started out with small bite tasting and explanations followed by traditional holiday foods. There was lots of walking and we were not overly full which has happened in other food tours. It was very well curated! We’d recommend it and Theresa!

5.00Theresa was an excellent guide, answered all of our questions, and was knowledgeable and personable. When I turned down sampling something I truly dislike, she worked with the vendor and I was provided an alternate. There was a no show on our tour, so my husband and I had essentially a private tour. The food was varied and that pleased us. Days later we found ourselves at the tour meeting point again and ran into Theresa starting another tour! She remembered us, we had a short chat, and my husband and I promised her new group that they were in for a treat! Thanks again Theresa for making our first trip to Stockholm memorable.

5.00There was a little confusion at the beginning of the tour since the directions given did not match what the guide had and she did not have an accurate list of guests. However, once that all got sorted out, the tour was lovely. The tour started in a food hall and we sampled a number of foods and heard history of the food hall and information about the foods. We continued getting interesting history as we walked from stop to stop. Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable and did a good job herding the cats from place to place. The only food I would not recommend was a particularly potent salty licorice. We were warned and I’m glad I tried it but it is not for the faint of heart. The trip ended with a nice traditional fika. Overall, a very nice tour. It was a great introduction to some of the food, history and local color in Stockholm.

5.00Out guide, Cotton, was great. A lot of historical detail while walking. The tour of the market and history of how it was built was very interesting. Very personable and enjoyed answering questions. Also history and detail about the food, cheese and candy.

1.00Waited for 45 minutes by the leg statue, and guide never showed up. We met another couple that was also waiting and had booked their tour through a different site. We reached out to the contact number provided, but there was no answer/no response. Sent an email (info.cph@foodtours.eu), which was promptly answered, but the suggestion was to contact the local manager, Faizal. Tried to call/text him, but those went unanswered too. Received a full refund, so we weren't out any money, but it was quite a disappointing experience.

3.00The meeting point is not as described and this caused a delay to the start of the tour. The tour was a lot less than 4 hours long too. Otherwise a lot of different foods tried and interesting commentary from the tour guide.
