Our day with Masae was the highlight of our entire trip to Japan. She took us through the matcha farms of Wazuka, led a beautiful tea ceremony, served a delicious Japanese lunch, and brought us to a mochi factory where a sensei showed us how it's made, to enjoy with our matcha. The whole day felt wonderfully authentic, and we learned so much about Japanese culture along the way. Tasting the different matchas side by side felt like a proper wine tasting, and Masae's knowledge is extraordinary. You can spend days sightseeing in Japan, but nothing brings you closer to the culture than a day like this with someone who loves it as deeply as she does. A day we will never forget. Thank you Masae.

This was a standout experience. Masae welcomed us into the world of Uji matcha with such warmth and expertise. Walking the tea fields, learning about cultivation and processing, and tasting matcha at its source was unforgettable. She was wonderful with our children and made the whole experience accessible and fun for all ages, while still offering real depth for the adults. The setting was beautiful and peaceful — a perfect break from the busier city days. Highly recommend to anyone who wants an authentic, hands-on look at one of Japan's great traditions.

In depth experience of matcha and the Uji area. I wanted to understand what went into producing the best matcha in the world along as how to appreciate it and learn the different types of tea and about tea ritual. Masae really goes out of her way to accomodate to one’s interests. We even stopped by the new museum of the Tales of Genji novel as I was interested in understanding this classic novel. Thanks Masae for the highlight part of my trip to Kyoto and Osaka!

The tour with Masae was an almost once in a lifetime tour. She is the expert in the area and speaks English perfectly. She couldn’t have been most friendly. The seven hours went by so quickly and I could have spent way more time in the area. My next visit back to Japan, I will be taking more tours with her. If you want to learn more about green tea or matcha, this is your tour. I have travelled around the world and this tour is at the top of all tours. If I could give her 10 stars I would. This tour should not be missed!
