We from Awa Salu Kiteboarding Curacao, offer you premium, high quality kite lessons. We are looking out for you with a high focus on technique and safety.
We are located at the A-spot for kiteboarding on the mainland of Curaçao at the St. Joris bay. Before and after your lessons you can get the tips and watch the tricks of the local kiteboarder in their habitat.
The water is both shallow and deep, for practicing all aspects of kiteboarding. For the more advanced courses we practice walking the kite and launching and landing the kite on land.
Wondering if kiteboarding is for you? Learning to kiteboard is like learning to drive a car. A kid could learn it. After a couple of lessons, you will get the hang of it and go as slow or fast, high or low as you want to go.

During this 5 day course of 2 hours each lesson, you will first learn how to control you kite. When you kite control and self rescue skills are good enough you will start to learn how to ride the board. Also will you learn the basics of landing and launching the kite. After this course you might be able to practise by yourself.

5.00Kim was an amazing kiteboarding instructor! Her teaching technique is by far the smoothest and best I’ve experienced. She takes her time explaining everything clearly and makes sure you truly understand each step instead of rushing through the lesson. What I really appreciated is how patient, encouraging, and detail-oriented she is. She knows exactly how to break things down in a way that makes learning feel natural and stress-free. After training with her, I improved a lot and felt way more confident on the board. If you want to progress quickly while still having fun and feeling safe, I highly recommend taking lessons with Kim. She’s passionate about teaching and it really shows!

5.00I had an incredible refresher session with Kim! From the very start, she was so friendly and communicative, making everything easy to organize. During the lesson, she used talkie walkies to guide me in real-time, which made a huge difference. She took the time to teach me all about my new gear and adapted the exercises perfectly to my level, helping me progress so much in just two hours. On top of being an amazing instructor, she’s also super talented and passionate about kitesurfing, which made the session both fun and rewarding. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience—thank you, Kim!
