Climb one of the most beautiful volcanoes in Central America with spectacular views to the active Fuego volcano from our amazing campsite! Here at OX we pay special attention to the details so that you can relax knowing that every part of your tour is being taking care of. From the moment you book to the moment you leave our office we will make every effort to ensure you have the adventure of a lifetime!

OX Expeditions
Start the day with a complementary breakfast and coffee at a local restaurant. Then we head to the trail head by minibus. From here we hike up the amazing Acatenango Volcano trail to our base camp with spectacular views of Fuego volcano arriving at around 2 PM

5.00I had an incredible experience with OX Expedition during our climb up the volcano. Everything was very well organized from the start, and the guides were friendly, professional, and always attentive to the safety and well-being of the entire group. The hike was challenging but totally worth it. The landscapes and views were spectacular, and thanks to the team's support and motivation, I was able to enjoy every moment of the adventure. It's clear they know the route very well and are passionate about what they do.

5.00This company was amazing. Having the company set up the buses and sort out the food for us was amazing and a huge benefit. The guides were amazing in making sure everyone was able make it to base camp by letting us take breaks every 20-30 minutes this was a huge help. Highly recommend booking with OX

5.00Genuinely the best tour company to hike Acatenango through. The local guides and company guides were great with setting a reasonable pace and stopping frequently to let people adjust to the altitude and accommodated for dietary requirements and physical injuries. The company clearly cares about the environment and urges hikers to collect rubbish. Also they show great care and contribution towards the community by educating tourists on issues and providing jobs for the locals as porters. 5.00It was a superb experience. Honestly, I think OX is the best agency. The guides are perfect and share their stories with us; the food and water are provided by the company, as well as most of the equipment. They also do their best to show us the best of Acatanengo and El Fuego.

5.00the acatenango hike, fuego, and summit was an incredible experience absolutely unreal. the guides were amazing and told some fun facts during the hike and the food/meals they provide are really filling and delicious putting the fact that your on top of a volcano!! i would 100% recommend going with ox!!!

5.00We were already on a trip to Guatemala, and after a lot of research we easily concluded that OX was the most qualified and with the vibration we were looking for. It was pure truth. They managed to fit our group (4) exactly for the dates we needed. The staff is great, the guides impeccable. All organized in the European standard. We chose the Trident plan. It was the best choice. 2 nights and 3 volcanoes. First we went to Acatenango and then to the Fuego with Miguel’s competent team. On the second night, we had an immersive and lonely experience in Pacaya, with the guide Ronaldo and his right arm José. We highly recommend OX. Check the website and confirm reservations as soon as possible, as the demand is great! ***the evaluation criterion is proportional, taking into account the proposal the venue offers and the use and the public to which it is intended.

5.00We were recommended this tour operator by one of our friends who did the overnight Acatenango hike with Ox and he loved it. We only had booked the overnight Acatenango hike originally because we waited until the last minute and things were selling out quicly for end of April 2026 BUT we were able to add on the Fuego hike option and pay for it at the end of our trip. We had 1 main guide who spoke English and ~4-5 other local guides that we met at the trailhead who spoke mostly Spanish. They were all wonderful and our main guide, Romeo, was very organized and went through everything to expect the night before our trip so we were prepared ahead of time. This is also when we could rent gear we needed from them. The next morning we arrived early to Ox to pack up our bags, got breakfast and then headed out to the trailhead to "base camp". We were provided breakfast, lunch, dinner, and breakfast the 2nd day and could bring any other snacks we wanted too. Our group was VERY big, around 35-40 people but the guides were able to check on everyone and make sure we got to the Fuego viewpoint with plenty of time before dark, and that we made it to the top of Acatenango on day 2 before sunrise. We even had some brave souls in our group do the crater run at the top which made the trip so much more fun. Our group was really great and I can't recommend this company and our tour guides enough. Truly a once in a lifetime experience!
