And perched high in the mountain above the village you will find the Pena Palace, a 19th century mixture of architectural styles. The former residence of Portuguese royal family is also famous because of its beautiful and romantic gardens and woods and it is called Village’s Palace. At the end of the tour, you will be able to enjoy the atmosphere at the old and narrow streets of Sintra’s old town

Visit with us the coastal cities of Estoril and Cascais that once were the summer residences of aristocrats and now are attracting an international clientele to its elegant hotels, casino and shops.

We start our tour at your hotel and we will explore the history of Lisbon, towards the Liberdade Avenue, where do you will hear about the legendary Marquis of Pombal. Next you can enjoy the beautiful Restauradores square, Rossio square and know about the earthquake that destroyed the city in the 18 th century. Along the way, you will see the Comercio Square (also known as Terreiro do Paço), formerly the entrance hall of the city, the Lisbon Cathedral, Lisbon´s oldest church, old cafés and boutiques.

Our first stop is in the beautiful city of Aveiro, known as the "Portuguese Venice" In addition to its beautiful historic center, beautiful Art Deco mansions. The city has a rich cuisine and tradicional sweets. Aveiro is a city cutted by a river, and famous by their boats, the "moliceiros", boats that had the function to transport the seaweed moliço.

5.00Andre is a fantastic guide and I would 100% go with him again! He curates such a phenomenal itinerary in such a way that it doesn’t feel overwhelming, but we were able to do so many amazing things that you typically would do when going to Portugal. He spaces out the days so it’s not overwhelmingly walking all the time. There are plenty of “break days” where the pace is a lot chiller. As we spent time with Andre during this trip, he tailored the itinerary to things that my family and I enjoy and are interested in, which made it so much more personal. I have been to Portugal before, but doing this trip with Andre felt like I was doing the country all over again and I highly recommend booking a trip with him.

5.00My husband and I traveled to Lisbon recently with our two kids and we used this company. I highly recommend them!! Our driver Carlos took us on two day trips and back to the airport. Carlos was the best driver we ever had. At the end of the trip he felt more like family to us than our driver. Very knowledgeable about Portugal and when we had to change one of our day trips around he recommended an amazing beach that made the day and the company was very accommodating in changing the itinerary for us. And when we were in the Lisbon airport to go home and my husband forgot his wallet back at the hotel, Carlos was on it and got the wallet back for us. Having Carlos made the trip even more memorable. He was so easy and fun to be around and my kids adored him.

5.00Andre of NomadInspiration is truly a gem of a human being. From the moment he picked us up at the airport to the moment he dropped us off at our final stop, he always had a smile on his face and made sure that my family and I were taken care of. His service is quite exceptional, simply due to his warm and caring nature and the admiration he has for his culture and country. Not only did he go the extra mile to explain the details behind where we were and its significance, such as the cozy towns of Sintra and Cascais, but he made each day and each moment unique and exciting for us. Like I said, I have never met someone like Andre before. For example, my mom was feeling quite ill, and he went the extra mile to get medicine for her and to make sure she would be okay. His service is something you won’t find elsewhere, going back to his vibrant and empathetic nature as a human being. 5.00My 10 day trip to Portugal with a friend was my second time touring with Nomadinspiration. The first time was in 2023. I returned to tour with Andre because I knew the level of service and care would be amazing. He crafted an itinerary based on some basic direction I gave. He really did a fantastic job is all areas. We experienced beautiful historical sites, as well as little known Portuguese sights that were off the beaten path. Our time with Andre was charming, educational, relaxing, and creative. I feel as if we traveled not just with a tour guide, but with a friend. I really cannot say enough about our experience other then, we will be back to Portugal again and we will trust Nomadinspiration to make our next trip as outstanding as our last 2 trip.

From his meticulous planning and keen attention to detail to his generosity, kindness, and friendship, we could not have had a better and more knowledgeable guide. He’s prepared for everything with multiple “plan Bs” and nothing from him is canned. It’s all organic knowledge and storytelling from someone passionate about what they do. For us it’s not just about seeing the sights and being told the history. It’s about an exchange of dialogue and experiencing the culture through a variety of means. Andre really excels at this type of experience and after a couple of outings with him, we’re proud to call him a friend. If you want to immerse yourself in a single or multi day adventure that encapsulates history, food, and experience with great hospitality, you will do no better than this.

5.00Andre was a wonderful guide on our tour from Lisbon to Madrid. Our son and daughter-in-law had toured with Andre last year, so they contacted him for this January. Andre put together a tour based on our interests and priced it for us. We felt the price was fair and the service was just excellent. Everyday was a new adventure in this beautiful part of Europe, and we were spoiled by Andre with his special touches. My husband has some medical issues that make long distances on foot difficult. Andre always kept this in mind and adapted for my husband’s needs. He considered hills and distances and changed plans as needed. We’ve signed up twice for a river cruise on the Douro River which was more expensive than other river cruises we’ve done. We cancelled those because the price per day was ridiculous in our opinion. We needed a way to see Portugal, so this was just perfect. I suggest this tour would fit many older traveler’s needs. Portugal has lots of hilly countryside and having a private tour , might be a perfect fit. That being said it was perfect for our younger ( and fitter) children. Andre separated us at times to meet their needs too. Contact Andre and see Portugal. Make a special friend and see a beautiful country.

Always punctual, cheerful and knowledgeable, he planned our route & recommended excellent, local restaurants too. His car is new, spacious and comfortable, making long drives pleasant. 5.00A great holiday experience flying into Porto via Madrid and on to Lisbon by train. We then hired a car and drove to The Algarve in the south before returning to Lisbon via Evora. Many thanks to Flight Centre Berwick Vic and our Consultant Nal Smith for organising yet, another fantastic adventure for us.
