The Argentine Cemetery is 1 hour and 30 minutes drive from Stanley. On the way you will have the opportunity to take in the views and enjoy conversation with your guide.
Once at the cemetery you will have time for private contemplation and must be respectful to the surroundings and fellow visitors.
If you wish to extend your tour and time permitting there is an opportunity to visit British war memorials in the area and make a brief visit to nearby Goose Green settlement where the local residents were held captive during the Argentine occupation.
You will complete your tour with a good understanding of life in the Falklands.

Argentine Military Cemetery
Situated near to Darwin Settlement, we allow one hour and 30 minutes travel time to the Cemetery on surfaced and unsurfaced road. The Argentine Cemetery is the resting place of more than 200 Argentine soldiers who died during the 1982 war. After the British reclaimed the Islands , many of the fallen Argentines were left in temporary graves as Argentine authorities refused to let the British return the remains to Argentina, claiming that they were already laid to rest in their homeland. The British commissioned the creation of the Cemetery in December 1982 and upon completion gave the fallen Argentine troops a Christian burial with full military honours. Every effort was made to identify the remains of each soldier and mark their graves accordingly. That said, a small number of the graves display the message “Argentine Soldier Known Only By God”. There is time for contemplation and to pay respect to the fallen soldiers and their families during your visit to the cemetery.

5.00An extraordinary and unerring experience for those who go to the island. The service is very good, the vehicle is in good condition and Sharon provides a lot of comfort and information throughout the tour. We would certainly do it again. An extraordinary and mandatory experience for those visiting the island. Excellent service offered by Sharon. The car is in mint conditions and she treats you lovely with plenty of information of the islands while driving. We'd do it again, definitely!
