Embark on a cruise, enjoy the spectacular Lake District landscape from the water.
Visit Hill Top farm, Beatrix Potter’s former home, and see the landscapes that inspired some of her books. Entrance to Hill Top farm is included, however when Hill Top is closed customers will visit The World of Beatrix Potter. (Hill Top is closed every Friday outside of the UK school holidays and November - February).
Continue on to the charming medieval village of Hawkshead, where poet William Wordsworth attended school, and then through the beautiful landscapes of the central lakes with lake and woodland views. Learn more about the much-loved children’s author from your knowledgeable guide.
This tour has attractions worth £32.50 included in your ticket price. Lake Cruise RRP £17.50 and Hill Top £15.00

Please note, the pick up location you have chosen is where you will be collected from. It is not possible to be collected from a different location once chosen. If you are not at the correct pick up location and miss the tour, we cannot offer alternative arrangements.

1.00Going on this tour was supposed to be the highlight of our time in the Lake District but it wasn't what we expected. I think we must have gone with the wrong company because this was pretty poor compared to the other tours we have been on in the Lake District. We should have checked who the tour was with before booking!

5.00Gerry the driver and guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He told us a lot about the history of the area from Romans to Vikings to present day and was very proud of the Lake District. He was also full of knowledge and admiration for Beatrix Potter and her life and lasting influence and impact on the Lake District.
Misleading title, rushed, poor timing, left to find our own way and very little information

2.00We thought that this would be a different tour than the "Mountain Goat Afternoon Tour of the Lake District" tour but it is not. If you read the write ups, they are exactly the same so I don't know where it is different to this one. Surely it would be less misleading to have just one tour rather than making it look like there are two different ones available. Hill Top Farm was nice and we enjoyed the area but we were very much left to our own devices. We were left outside Hawkshead and had to find our way around the village. The timing was awkward for lunch and we didn't get to see much. Tarn Hows was very pretty but I had to find out about where we went and why after the tour by myself. All in all, we all felt it was confusing, misleading, rushed and superficial. Don't feel we benefited from this tour very much except for a boat trip - we could have done that ourselves though.
Better to book with ‘mountain goat tours’ for correct information on the trip

5.00Lovely scenery. Graham, our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The microphone on the bus was inoperable but Graham spoke loud enough for us to hear. Thank you Graham.

4.00Hilltop is closed often on Fridays so just be aware of that when booking. World of Beatrix potter was the substitute and was very impressive. We booked a tour of Hilltop separately for the next day.
