Nightsnorkeling brings an increased chanse of jelyfish encounters, the guide might end the excursion early when there is a high chanse of getting stung. If this is the case you will be offered to join on a other evening free of charge.
we offer this as a night dive tour as well. For everyone that has a scuba diving certification It is higly recomended to book the bioluminescent nightdive tour as getting in the middel of it is a uncomparable experience!
if you have a longsleeve wetsuite/rashguard or any other protective waterclothing it is advisable to bring it.

You'll get a explanation about what this bioluminescense actually is and what is so special about the ostracod bioluminescent displays in the caribbean. We will give you a briefing on how we are going to snorkel and what to do/not to do. Fit and put on our snorkelgear and guide you with light (lights are a safty instument since we can only see the bioluminescent in complete darkness to the safe entry, in the water we will be showing you the best ways to see this -unique to the caribbean-phenomonon and telling you some more interesting facs as well. After the experience and back out of the water if you are interested your guide will gladly tell you more about the magical world of living light (if the circumstances allow ofcourse) so don't hesitate to ask! We enjoy to discus the little bit that's already known of the world of bioluminescense like what you just witnesed and will awnser any questions you have as well as we can according to what we know (following curently ongoing study's)

5.00Probably one of my favorite excursions I’ve done so far in Bonaire. Pretty fun to see the bioluminescence in the ocean, our Guide provided gear as well and was very knowledgeable about ocean life. Never swam in the ocean in the dark before but I felt safe with our guide Jim regardless. I would do this one again.

4.00You will see two types of bioluminescence - in water and on the ocean floor; it is beautiful and amazing to see how at a certain time clusters of algae show many lights, like someone turned on bulbs in a Christmas tree. It is not difficult and definitely recommended.

5.00Awesome experience - I highly recommend this excursion. The host was great and we saw a ton of bioluminescence. Bonaire is great - this was a highlight for us.

5.00My wife and I were lucky enough to have a private bioluminescence night snorkeling tour with our guide Jim. It was an amazing experience! Jim was very knowledgeable and made sure we got the most out of it. With a cloud free night we had stars in the sky and it felt like we were swiming in stars too. Overall, it was a unique and memorable experience that we highly recommend.

1.00I feel like this experience was misrepresented. The photo in Viator was absolutely not consistent with the actual experience. While the limited exposure to the photoluminescet organisms was amazing, it was absolutely not consistent with what was represented. To begin, we were asked shirt and shoe sizes prior to the event. We planned for a pick up from our apartment. A few minutes after our pick up time we received a message that the pick up person forgot their phone and did not have our address. As it was a time sensitive event, we were asked to use our own vehicle to get to the tour on time. After a big rush, we made it to the meeting point. The tour leader did not have the appropriate sizes for us, gear (wetsuit) was still wet from prior use, booties were too bit for one and too small for the other. It felt quite gross to use a snorkel and mask when the other equipment did not seem to have been prepared for us or cleaned. The guide was disorganized to say the least. The fact that we spent only a few moments snorkeling was disappointing, particularly as we did spend quite a bit of money for this tour. Not his fault that the jellyfish bothered some of the guests, I don’t recall seeing that one of the main bioluminescent organisms that we were to see were stinging jellyfish. This would have been food to know before booking the trip. Overall, I am really disappointed in the quality of this experience. Not being picked out/ not informed of the need to transport ourselves until after pick up time, the lack of available equipment despite confirming in advance our needs, and the very short duration of the experience (less than 15m in the water) made this overall absent worth the price. Had I the opportunity, I would have taken my family independently for a leisurely night snorkel to see this amazing biological experience.

5.00We had the most magical night snorkeling with Jim through the bioluminescence! It was incredibly beautiful to watch the little sparks like stars under the ocean when we swam. Unforgettable, highly recommend! Our guide was very helpful and made sure we had a great time.

5.00Wow! What an experience! This was by far my favorite excursion on the island. We were able to play and interact with bioluminescent dinoflagellates that glittered in the water as we swam around. After a certain time, the reef came alive with bioluminescent ostracods. Between the two, it felt like we were swimming through the stars. Absolutely amazing, I can’t recommend this tour enough!

5.00Absolutely magical swim not easy getting in (I have very dodgy knees) but Jim was on hand to help. Jim was very knowledgeable about what we were going to see and then the underwater show started....incredible just do the trip you really won't be disappointed Francis and clare
