Excellent option for a day trip out to Gozo & Comino. The add-ons for taking a speedboat to Comino caves and a shuttle into Gozo were entirely worthwhile! The blue lagoon itself was gorgeous. I thought I wouldn’t have enjoyed it as much given how many ferries/boats were crowding the area but the water was so pleasant, it was a great way to spend an afternoon. Gozo itself was nice to wander around. The staff did a great job managing all travelers’ needs. The on board services like lockers, drinks and food were great too!

If you need a day away from the holiday routine of beach or pool, this is it. Got to the harbour to a very efficient system of wrist bands and Gozo bus vouchers. On the boat travelling over to Gozo, we got lots of great information about the surrounding sights. Even tucking the boats nose in to various caves to have a close up look. The blue water is just stunning. When we arrived to the Blue Lagoon, we definitely had the best parking space. Not tucked between boats for our swim, we had the open area. You can jump off the higher or lower decks, slide down the slide or use the ladder to ease in. Life jackets available for those not confident swimmers. Snorkel and mask for those wanting to explore. We had our own face mask so made do with sticking our heads in and having a look. Few unusual fish swimming by. Noticed others bringing swim shoes so they could climb on the rocks under the water. Thought that was clever. We stood on the rocks and it was fine without shoes. The waves push you off but its very pleasant. The water is just fantastic. Absolutely crystal clear. You can have a swim or dive and then with shoes, climb up higher to market trader vans with fruit, sandwiches and drinks. I didnt realise but you can stay in the Blue Lagoon or go to Gozo. I'd assume if you stayed in the Blue Lagoon, you would go to the main public area and cross over to see into more caves. We chose Gozo. Arrive in the harbour, and its a quick off and into a mini bus. Off to Victoria. Some didnt take the bus and just stayed around the harbour area. I would recommend the bus as you get to the landscape as you drive. Our mini bus driver was great. Had a chance to stop off for a photo opportunity. The wide Bay including the Blue Lagoon in the distance. Our stop in Victoria was near a shopping centre. Our meet point when coming home also. The shopping centre has clothes shops and McDonalds We kept walking up the steep road, the heat was really something else. Some bistro cafes on the street did toasties and drinks. So sat for a bit. Then felt the pressure for time, wanted to at least see the Citadel. So started the climb up the road which was a struggle with 40 degree heat. I might recommend a taxi, dont know how easy they are to get, but we were under time pressure from walking. Arrived to the Citadel, which was amazing. Absolutely stunning architecture even our teenage boys were impressed. Got a quick few photos and had to leave. Shame we didnt have more time to see it all, so maybe a taxi would give you that time. Lots of nice shops around and food areas. Again we were under time constraints so didnt get a proper look Back down the hill which was much easier. Arrived to our pickup location, on the bus and gone again to the harbour. Quick leap on the boat and off back to base via a different route. Stopping in some lovely locations and hearing some history. Back to the harbour and definitely order a taxi, minutes to wait amongst the crowds The blue Lagoon was packed with boats but our landing was so perfect you didnt feel the crowds. There was an option to take a speedboat to see the caves more clearly but we preferred to take the time to swim and dive. Gozo was fantastic so will have to go back. The boat had music playing, lots of drinks and maybe snacks. We didnt get anything but the pineapple drinks looked lovely. Great fun day that ticks a lot of boxes. Fun swims and some history !

This boat trip was an excellent war to see Gozo and the Blue Lagoon. The staff took great care of us and offered an awesome service. This included food, bus transfers, a speedboat tour of the caves and cocktails out of a pineapple! If you’re staying in St Paul’s Bay or anywhere within a bus journey of the pier, definitely try and book a trip with the Hornblower crew 👍

The boat leaves something to be desired. The stop at the blue lagoon was very good. The transfer and visit to Gozo did not meet my expectations.

Highly recommend this was such an awesome day . The crystal clear blue lagoon is just breathtaking and then all the non stopping views on the boat was beautiful. Going to GOZO for the rest of the day is beautiful and I recommend spending the 5€ and getting the bus transport lots of big hills

Really smooth operation. Plenty of food and drink on board at reasonable Prices. We went with 3 kids, who loved the blue lagoon. Which was an option to stay at instead of going to Gozo for the day. It is a long day, so pack accordingly.

Everything was excellent apart from the drinks, 20 eur for ananas and 4 cocktails that contained very little alcohol. Every time I asked to make it stronger but the staff just laughed. They have the best spot in blue lagoon where you have plenty of space to swim, jump from the boat or use the crazy slide. The other thing, first come first serve rule are valid only till the gozo island, then they remove all the belongings. So if you are planning to come 1.5 h earlier to get best spot on the top deck, have that in mind. The transfer in cozo was perfect.

I'm trying to get a refund of €240, after being left high and dry by Hornblower Cruise Malta. I bought 6 tickets weeks in advance of our trip via "Headout Tours online" to do a full day Gozo & Comino Cruise with Blue Lagoon on Hornblower, departing Tuesday 9th June at 1000hrs, at a total cost of €240. We arrived at Bugibba Pier in plenty of time to collect our pre-registered blcomino.com wristbands, and then we proceeded to queue with others at 0920hrs (as per voucher instructions) to board the Hornblower ship. At our turn to board, the person who was scanning tickets at the boarding ramp for the Hornblower, he looked at my phone/tickets and pointed out at the "tour name title" and he said "this ship wasn't going to Gozo, that it was the next ship coming at 1030hrs from Silema to Bugibba". I queried that because the ticket says 1000hrs, and he called over to another crew member at the pier, who also verified that another boat comes in at 1030". So I had two crew members advise me the same thing !! Who was I to question this, I mean I'm at their ship and this is their crew? So, we waited for this 1030 ship, which never came. I tried to contact the emergency number for Headout, but i couldn't get through. I contacted chat lines, but you only get a chatbot these days, so useless. We ended up booking new tickets at the pier to go with "Sea Trips Catamaran" on a 5pm sunset cruise later that day, which cost us an additional €180. I followed up with an email to Headout Customer service that afternoon, and they emailed back with Hornblowers response, which is that "I must have gone to the wrong pier (which I didn't), because I was at their ship and I have video evidence to support this. Also, Hornblower say that "only one ships departs at 1000hrs from Bugibba ", which is funny, because that is the ship that I was trying to board, but I couldn't get access to board it !!!! The customer care team from Headout have tried to deal with Hornblower, but they just receive a standard response that " I must have made a mistake, there is only one 1000hrs departure, the ship departed without me and therefore I'm not entitled to a refund". So here's some evidence. Hornblower said in their reply that "only one ship leaves at 1000hrs from Bugibba Pier", and yet they had an advertising board at Bugibba pier on the 9th June'26, which says they have 2 tours !!! They advertised a " Tour A, Comino, Blue Lagoon and Caves" and also a "Tour B", which is what I booked for "Comino, Blue Lagoon, Gozo and Caves", and get this, it says the ships leave at 1030hrs (I'm glad I took a photo of this, which is attached). Incredibly, after my written complaint that day, a couple of days later, somebody in Hornblower then covered up that very same advertising board with a new board using some cable ties (and you can see it was covering up the two tours and 1030hrs) ... sneaky eh !!!! So the bottom line is, some crew members made a mistake with my tickets, perhaps they read it wrong but they are the ones that made the mistake and all Hornblower can do to save face is to call me liar, or suggest that I made a mistake and all the while they'll just keep €240. Headout offered me an option to rebook the same tour for another date, which in a sense is admitting liability for an error, but I wasn't able to go another date, as I was travelling elsewhere, i'd also booked a separate tour a few hours later at additional expense. So willing to rebook me, but not willing to refund me! I work in the Travel Industry for a large Tour Operator, and I've never come across such disregard towards a customer issue. At no point have they engaged meaningfully via Headout customer care, even though I've provided supporting evidence to the contrary. Ironically, on their own poster at the pier their company slogan is "Because you deserve the best", when really all I deserve is a refund which would be the best, and what I deserve. I'll be sure to call them out to other agents and customers for their behaviour.
