  If you do one thing in Budapest, make it this food tour! I came in knowing a bit about Hungarian cuisine after studying abroad in Budapest over a decade ago but this tour left me completely obsessed and made me excited to visit Budapest again and again. Nelli was an absolute gem — knowledgeable about the history and culture behind every dish, genuinely warm, and had us laughing the entire time. It felt like exploring the city with a local friend who happened to know everything. The Central Market Hall alone was worth the price. Nelli walked us through the stalls explaining what to look for, what's worth buying, and what tourists tend to overlook. The tastings were generous and well-chosen, giving a real sense of what Hungarian cooking is all about. And of course — the lángos. If you've never had one fresh off the fryer, prepare yourself...it's incredible. By the end of the tour I had a full stomach, a long shopping list, and a much deeper appreciation for Budapest's food culture. This is the kind of experience that makes travel memorable and worthwhile. I highly, highly recommend!!

  Very knowleadgeable guide with a great presence and wonderful English. She clearly enjoys showing local foods to visitors. Also quite capable at providing general information on the country and its history. We had a fabulous time discovering Hungarian preferred food specialities. We highly recommend her if you are interested in food in Budapest.

  My spouse and I spent a delightful afternoon with Nelli on June 10th. Nelli’s deep knowledge of Hungary’s food, culture, history, and traditions brought every stop to life in an engaging and approachable way. The goulash, lángos, and aperitifs were all fantastic. I highly recommend Nelli to anyone visiting Hungary—she offers an authentic, enriching experience that goes far beyond a typical food tour.

  The food tour with Nelli was fantastic! She guided us through the market hall and introduced us to the local delicacies. We were able to taste everything with appropriate explanations. Hungary is not just paprika ;-). In the city center, we continued with even more specialties at various locations. In the end, we were all more than full and got to know and love the Hungarian specialties! We can only recommend the food tour. Thank you, Nelli.

  Nelli and her amazing food tour in Budapest was informative and fun! I felt so well taken care of and also listened to. She tailored the tour to our tastes and you could tell how much she loves sharing her food culture with tourists like us. We visited a large number of food stops and the big market. The tour had lots of rest and a good amount of walking too. Great length and great time!

  The food tour with Nelli is a wonderful way to begin a visit to Budapest. She provides information about the food (and tastings!), culture, and history. Nelli is also very easy to be around. She made us all feel like long time friends. This was definitely one of the highpoints of our trip!

  Nelli is fantastic. Her pre tour communication was excellent. Her instructions where to meet were perfect. The tour took us to places we would never find on her own. She was very accommodating about our dietary restrictions. Most of all she was fun, vibrant and her knowledge of history was amazing. Highly recommended you book with her.

  Nelly is infectious, knowledgeable and ready to show us her world in Hungary. We tasted so many unique dishes and had fun making a few purchases. Definitely recommend!
