What sets this adventure apart is the expertise of our certified local interpreter, who brings deep knowledge of the area and its rich history. Join us for an off-the-beaten-path hiking and caving experience in El Sistema de Cuevas Arenales in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico.
We’ll begin with a scenic walk alongside a river in the north-central part of the island, far from the usual tourist crowds. Immerse yourself in nature as we jump off canyon cliffs, swim through stunning caves, and learn about the history of the Taíno natives of Puerto Rico.
Please note that this is not a private tour. Transportation is included from a designated meeting point.

Embark on an exhilarating adventure at Charco Azul, where we’ll explore three unique caves nestled in a lush rainforest in the heart of the island. This tour offers a range of experiences from moderate to challenging, depending on your fitness level. We’ll start with a hike down to the river, where a thrilling jump marks the beginning of our adventure. Swim through the crystal-clear turquoise waters of the caves, discover a hidden waterfall, leap off canyon cliffs, and marvel at ancient Taino native markings. This tour can take around 7 hours from pickup to drop-off depending on the group. Charco Azul & Cuevas Arenales translates to Blue Pool & Sand Cave and is located in Vega Baja, PR.

5.00Abdiel and Kevin our guides were great. They were very patient with our whole group, not just my family. My family and I had a wonderful time. The cliff jumping and waterfalls as well as the photos that were taken made it worth it. Book it! Abdiel also provided restaurants and things to do for my family while staying on the North side of the island.

5.00This tour beat all of my expectations! Our guide, Mara, was phenomenal! You can tell she truly loves her job and her home country. She was so knowledgeable about the flora, fauna and the history of Puerto Rico and made sure every guest felt comfortable and had a good experience. The caves were magical and a once in a lifetime experience. You will regret not booking this trip!

5.00If there was more than 5 stars I would give them, today was amazing! Our guide Mara, was fantastic! She went above and beyond to make sure we all had an amazing time!! She was extremely knowledgeable about the plants, history, wild life and so much more! Definitely take the tour, hopefully you're lucky enough to get paired with her!!

5.00We had an amazing time! Mara was an amazing guide! Our family of 5 enjoyed it so much! Even our 6 year old was able to do everything. Solid hiking boots or sneakers are needed. Felt like a real hidden gem known only to locals!

5.00Here’s a polished review you can post for GeoaventurasPR: Such an incredible experience — absolutely worth every penny. This ended up being the best experience of our entire trip! We explored waterfalls, swam through caves, saw bats, and learned so much along the way. Our guides, Abdiel and Rafael, were amazing — super knowledgeable about the history, terrain, and the whole adventure experience. They made everything feel safe, fun, and unforgettable. One of the coolest parts was doing face painting with mineral rocks from the area, which made the experience feel even more authentic and special. After the tour, they also took us to a hidden gem for delicious local food. Everything about this tour felt unique, exciting, and personal. We’ll definitely be coming back to do more of their tours again. Highly recommend!

5.00Wonderful experience and tour guides! We went in a small group and the guides told us about the surrounding environment and history as we went through (in both Spanish and English). Pictures were included with the booking!
