Temple Of Sri Kailawasanathan Swami Devasthanam Kovil
Sri Kailasanathar Swami Devasthanam (temple) is located behind the Colombo fort railway station. There are some other names for this temple such as Captain’s Garden Hindu Temple, Kapikaawatha Shivan temple. Many believes this is the oldest Hindu temple in Colombo. Its history date back to 17th century. Though the buildings here are not that old it is very impressive to see its classic architecture and sculpture. 5.00We had a great tour with Obama. He showed us all the major sights of the city and answered all of our questions patiently. We enjoyed seeing many different religious locations, a vegetable market, historical locations, the maritime museum and many more. We also had fresh mango juice at a family run juice shop and tea at another family run business. The day wrapped up with a traditional Sri Lankan lunch. Would highly recommend to see much of Colombo on limited time.
