Discover how to prepare Tave Kosi, one of the most delicious and unique dishes in Albanian cuisine. Join our cooking class in Tirana and immerse yourself in the rich flavors of Albanian food. A fascinating piece of history lies behind this dish, as it was once known as the "Independence Dish." It was a favorite of Ismail Qemali, the first Prime Minister of Albania after the country's declaration of independence in 1912. For the best experience, Tave Kosi is best enjoyed warm, served in its traditional bowl. This dish can be prepared year-round due to the availability of its simple ingredients. While Tave Kosi can be made with either lamb or veal, the traditional recipe calls for lamb, which brings out the authentic flavors of this beloved dish.

5.00Syndee is a well prepared and great chef. She is witty and will keep you entertained all the while preparing a three course meal. She involves everyone. Had a great time even though I butchered the filo dough.

5.00The whole experience is great. Meeting instructions very clear. The venue is homely and welcoming. The cooking is well explained and very well laid out and organised. Come hungry, as it’s a lot of very delicious food and very generous with the wine as well. I would highly recommend for anyone coming to Tirana.

5.00If I could give unlimited stars for this experience, it still wouldn’t be enough to articulate how fantastic this experience was. Sindi is an amazing host. She was very attentive and thorough and guided us in making such a delicious meal. And her dad’s homemade wine really elevated this experience. Even with the electricity going out due to the protests, that did NOT stop the fun time our group had. Sindi quickly adjusted and did not miss a beat with working around the time we were in the dark. I also really liked how we all helped make the meal we were going to have opposed to just making individual meals. The experience felt more like a community coming together, opposed to travelers having their own individual experience. I will be doing this EVERY single time I’m in Albania.

5.00Sindi hosted an incredible cooking class, a healthy balance of Albanian culture, cooking, and chatting with a full glass of wine. She was very patient and hospitable to my daughter (6) who had a wonderful time.

5.00We started by meeting Sindi outside where she lead us to the eating and cooking space. She was very friendly and kind as we all got started. She started by explaining each dish we were going to make. All sounded AMAZING! We had a youngster in the group and she was awesome with her as well. Allowed her to participate in special ways and us as well. We were allowed to ask questions, make mistakes, and of course laugh some. Sindi was absolutely perfect at hosting. Once all preparations were done we had a bit of a break to drink some wine and socialize. Again the dad and daughter we were with were such great experiences companions. The food was fresh, tasty, and of course made by us! Could not recommend this experience enough! Do it!

5.00Sindy is a fantastic cook, a great teacher, and a particularly warm host. We cooked 3 typical Albanian dishes. Everyone was involved, received help, and we all had a lot of fun. There was red wine and raki from the family farm, and our cooking results were very delicious. The group quickly bonded, and by the end of the evening, I returned to my B&B feeling very uplifted. Definitely try this cooking class; it is truly worth it! Thank you very much, Sindy, for the lovely evening.
We cooked 3 course meals all from scratch and after we eat them, there was so many food that Sindi gave them to us.
