Dachau
After visiting the memorial site, travelers explore the historic town of Dachau on a guided walking tour that reveals a side of the area many visitors never see. Led by a certified guide, the walk covers Dachau’s medieval origins, its former role as an artists’ colony, and the everyday life of the community before 1933. Guests learn how the town was affected during the Nazi period and how it has confronted and commemorated its past since 1945. Our visit to Dachau was a powerful and moving experience today. The memorial site is presented and provides an important insight into a dark chapter of history. A special thank you to our guide, Sam, whose knowledge, passion, and respectful approach brought the stories and history to life. Sam was informative, and happy to answer questions, making the tour both educational and memorable. Highly recommended. Excellent day was had at Dachau, followed by a lovely lunch and a tour of the old city. The early start was perfect, and finishing around 2 pm left plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the afternoon exploring Munich. Thanks again Sam
