The Margaridas Apiculture is located in the Lagoa, on an ancient pasture, which has been reconverted into a forest DE native and meliferous species. Today, the farm is inhabited by the Margarida bees who visit the diverse DE flowers and meliferous species that populate this space. Beekeeper Carolina, a passionate lover POR these amazing beings will take visitors on a trip to the Wonderful World of Bees!
The visitor will wear the skin DE a real beekeeper and be surprised by the bees in their busy daily life. We start with a briefing on the biology of the bees, the safety measures, and we continue to the discovery of the hives. At DAhow the hi is organized, what functions bees perform throughout their lives and who knows... You can even find the Queen!
At the end, the Margarida bees give us a DE taste of honey. They will taste the different types DE honey from the Azores.

5.00Carolina is incredibly knowledgable and passionate about what she does and is part of a bigger mission rooted in research and natural preservation. She has a heart of gold, a great sense of humor, and engaged with the group well! She was patient, kind, and made the experience one to remember. She treats her bees and her land like family, and her work is an example for other beekeepers around the world! Nobody in our group was stung, thanks to the high-quality beekeeping suits, gloves, and ankle covers. Carolina's calm and confident personality helped us all maintain composure to have a great experience meeting the bees! Last but not least, the honey that she sells is incredibly tasty, and each harvest has its own flavor profile. I will be following her journey and looking out for her research in the future!

5.00A fun and interesting experience! The bookeeper/owner Carolina is very nice and knowledgeable and passionate about her craft. It was really cool seeing the bees in the colony and we all felt safe/comfortable thanks to the bee suits.

5.00A very cool experience! We learned all about bees from Carolina, and then got up close and personal with the honey makers themselves. The hive was extremely interesting, and she showed us all the different parts and let us hold the frame of honeycomb. The honey tasting was very sweet, and we bought several jars to take home. 10/10 would recommend!

5.00Here I had my first bee experience - and it was simply fantastic! Carolina took so much time for our group and answered all questions with enthusiasm. Always happy to do it again! Time flew by. The experience begins with explanations about bees, followed by putting on the beekeeper suit. After that, you are ready to go to the beehives. A honey tasting rounds off the experience at the end. All in all - a highlight for me!

5.00Such a lovely and friendly experience, highly recommend!! It's a great mix of learning about bees, taking a close look at the beehives (you even get the chance to hold a frame from the hive, full of bees!) and taste testing of different honeys from this apiculture. It's a great experience for kids (so my husband loved it) as well as adults!

5.00Hi, a beekeeper from Lithuania here. Visiting this apiary is highly recommended for anyone who wants to learn about bees, the Azores, and the unique ecosystem of the islands. Even for those who already know a lot, Carolina’s knowledge of biology is outstanding, and you can see the passion in her eyes when she speaks about it. It’s a great place to slow down, relax, and unwind after long days of hiking and surfing in the Azores. And be prepared to learn — to learn a lot. Professional beekeeper approved.

5.00Today we have a pleasure to join the Bee Exploration Session with Carolina. Carolina explained everything about the bees, their life , their behavior and world of local plants the bees live in. We saw the sweet home of the bees, how they work and communicate with each other - great family!!!! I really appreciate all the knowledge we got today and the happy feeling to watch these beatiful incects in the nature. And of course, the honey tasting afterwards and the opportunity to buy such a delicious local honey. Use this experience and try it yourself. 5.00Carolina is a great beekeeper! We have visited today this lovely place- bee home. It was so excited to hear about the life of a bee worker, queen, drone and bee colony.
