We first take you to Bruges for a short pick-up stop. We stop at a very moving German Cemetery, from where we drive to a section of the WW1 trenches. We will then visit the Monument of the Brooding Soldier. After a short lunchbreak we leave for Flanders Fields which was one of the major battlegrounds in the First World War.
Our expert guide will help you throughout the visit to understand the events that led to the first world war and how the catastrophe developed. We take you to Passchendaele battlefield and the Tyne Cot Cemetery, the largest Commonwealth cemetery in the world where British, Australian and Canadian soldiers lie at rest. You visit the Monument of the ‘Brooding Soldier’ and Essex Farm. At 8 pm you attend the Last Post Ceremony at Menin Gate, a daily tribute to all Commonwealth soldiers and officers that were missing after battle.

5.00This is a long trip (09:15 - approx 23:00) but totally worth it. During the course of the day, we saw over 10 different sites associated with the first World War. The coach was comfortable, the driver skilled and flexible, and meant that we could see so much more than could have been done in the same time using public transport. What made the tour so good was the detailed and very interesting and informative commentary from the excellent, experienced guide, Johan. He is a historian - and it showed. He knows his stuff so well and was able to point out detail and tell stories that brought each site alive. The tour includes entry to the Flanders Fields Museum in Ypres and culminates with the nightly last post ceremony at the Menin Gate. You will need to bring water and snacks/money for lunch (in Ypres) or dinner (also in Ypres). Highly recommended.

5.00This tour was amazing.The guide Johan was very passionate .His knowledge about Belgium and the war was incredible. learnt so much on this tour. He even stopped at significant sites related to Australian and NZ soldiers when he found out a lot of the passengers were from there. The driver also did an incredible job navigating his way around very challenging roads for a bus. A long day but definitely worth it.

4.00Excellent and extremely knowledgable guide. The tour itself did not include near enough time to visit the Flanders museum which in my mind is the highlight of the trip and very little time to eat if you wanted to see the museum at all. Would recommend for all other sites but if you want to properly visit the museum I would not recommend with group

5.00This is a truly moving experience and one absolutely worth doing. Our guide, Dietrich, was incredibly insightful and really helped me to understand everything that happened during the battle of Flanders — tho coming in with some knowledge doesn’t hury. Additionally, he gave context of what was going on before WW1 with the country of Belgium and that was both super interesting and helpful. Since I don’t see it any of the other reviews, there is both a lunch a dinner break in Ypres, but you are on your own, that said, packing food is not necessary. I would totally recommend anyone looking for a really enlightening history tour to check this out. It is a long day, but it’s worth it. We left from Brussels and it’s about a 2 hour round trip both ways.

5.00A long day worth the trip. The Guide was a wealth of information and very professional. The bus had to make a second stop in Brugge to pick up passengers. Delayed us slightly coming an going. We're glad we did it to see for ourselves some of the most terrible battles of WW1. Know what you are getting into before the trip. Worthwhile in every way.
