Fotografiska Stockholm
Fotografiska, the Contemporary Museum of Photography, Art & Culture, is the global destination for photography and visual storytelling. Housed in a historic customs house and opened in 2010, Fotografiska quickly became a cornerstone of Stockholm’s cultural scene and has since expanded to Berlin, Shanghai, and Tallinn. Across several floors, Fotografiska showcases the work of both renowned and emerging artists, exploring photography and visual art in all its forms—from classic prints to digital media and multidisciplinary installations. The museum features exhibitions that change almost every month and a dynamic events programme. On the top floor, Fotografiska’s award-winning bistro and restaurant offer seasonal, locally sourced dishes with some of the city’s best views. On the ground floor, a curated museum store offers posters, books, gifts, and design objects inspired by current and past exhibitions. 2.00I must clarify that I am not a professional photographer or an art expert, but I really did not understand the meaning of the collection of displayed items. Additionally, there was an ongoing exhibition with a private party, so it was only possible to visit one floor out of two.

4.00The special exhibit is from Elliot Erwitt and if you can catch it - please do! Marvelous photos that span countries and generations. I give this exhibit 5 stars - the other photographers were less my thing, but worth a visit in any event. End you visit with a coffee and cinnamon bun on the 4th floor where there's a lovely view!

5.00There are always good exhibitions here. This time both famous established photographers and young unknowns. Exciting, beautiful and sometimes thought-provoking. To be able to walk around with a glass of bubbly on Sunday feels luxurious and international. Lunch with a view of Stockholm and the bay is always the icing on the cake.
