Our full day trip from Vienna shows you the must-see places in Austria in a comfortable and flexible manner.

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive to Austrian Alps, where you will find out the facts of the highlight of the Wachau Valley, the magnificent Benedictine Abbey of Melk.

As you continue your journey, you will experience the natural splendour of the Salzkammergut Lake District, a paradise of serene waters and stunning alpine scenery.

The next highlight of the trip is the unique village of Hallstatt, located right on the shores of an Alpine lake with an amazing view of the huge mountains rising steeply from a narrow valley.

The next highlight is the City of the Sound of Music - Salzburg, where you will have free time to stroll through the Old Town, Mirabel garden, Mozart's Birthplace and enjoy the world capital of classical music.

If you find yourself enchanted by this magnificent city, you can stay there longer and return to Vienna at your own expenses by train.

Please note that you will cover approx. 660 km. by motorway on this day. It is approx. 8,5 hours drive with multiple stops. You will spend minimum 1 hour in Hallstatt and max. 2 hours in Salzburg. In case of traffic jams, the time can be shortened.

This tour is created for inquisitive travellers who want to visit the most important cities in a short time. If you want to get to know these cities in more details, we strongly advise you to go to each of these cities separately.

To save your free time in the cities, we also recommend you to bring light snacks and water. You can eat on the bus as long as you don't disturb other tourists.

Tour is not recommended for infants and very slow-moving disabled persons.

The day trip was really good and informative and our tour guide, Olga, was phenomenal. Definitely a tour I would recommend it for anyone wanting to see Hallstatt and Salzburg.
Avoid this tour and this company.

It had to happen eventually. Our first 1-star experience on Viator. This tour has no business being on this platform. A lousy van (or bus as they call it), with poor leg room. We are of average height and had no issues with any other tours on this multi-country vacation. The guide was okay. The pace and value are unacceptable.

Alexander was a great guide.He was very well prepared with his material and delivered this in an informative way. He has a great sense of humour and very approachable. There was a little confusion with the travel company unfortunately regarding pick up from hotel which was confirmed at booking . However the day before , we were advised that we needed to make our own way to pick up location. The trip itself was great. Would have liked more time in Salzburg. 1 hour with local guide was good but 1 hour was not enough to explore more ourselves

It is a very long day. Not for young children. Lots of twists and turns on the road so if you are someone who gets motion sick, take Dramamine or decline this trip. The views are tremendous!! Our travel guide was extremely knowledgeable and persistent in sharing his enjoyment of Viennese history.

The tour guide Alexandera worked very hard trying to give us as much information as possible, but we needed more quiet time to rest on the bus.

Excellent tour - special thanks to Sabrina, our tour guide and Claudio, the driver. The meeting point was easy to find - bus was comfortable. Sabrina and Claudio were giving us comfort breaks and time to stretch our legs. Unfortunately, heat was terrible- but inside the bus, it felt comfortable. Also, it was lovely to listen to Strauss and Mozart on the bus - fantastic choice from Sabrina. Very pleasant tour- highly recommend

An amazing day trip to Hallstatt and Salzburg! Hallstatt’s stunning lakeside scenery and Salzburg’s beautiful historic charm made for an unforgettable experience. Despite the warm weather, the tour was well organized and enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Austria, just keep in mind the time in each location is not too long… so expectations should be set appropriately.

Awesome tour, very organized. Big bus was very comfortable in a long trip. Olga, our guide was very patient, considerate, very knowledgeable and gave us ample time to take pictures. I highly recommend for first timers in Vienna.
An awesome day out to explore the country side of Austria.

It was a long day trip that starts at 730am and returns at about 9pm. It was a bit rushed at the sites just to fit in all the itinerary. however, it is still a great trip if on a time constraint. Alexander was a great guide that kept giving history for the 10 hours of the entire trip. well worth the time. ps. if traffic then of course the time spent at each site gradually decreases.
