National Museum of Ethiopia
You will start your city tour of Addis Ababa with the National Museum of Ethiopia. This is one of the best museums in quality and diversity of the exhibits. Archeological exhibits include the 3.5 million-year-old fossil of Lucy (or Dinkinesh – ‘thou art wonderful’- in the native language), a hominoid woman of the specious of Australopithecus Afarensis. The discovery of Lucy’s fossil in 1974 forced a complete rethink of human genealogy, providing that our ancestors were walking 2.5 million years earlier than had been supposed. The National Museum also contains many wonderful artifacts dating back to pre-Axumite civilization. Please note that the National Museum Will be closed on Monday.
Yekatit 12 Martyrs Square
Yekatit 12 Martyrs Square Monument is located near the Addis Ababa University and the Lion Zoo. This place has a significant historical background.

2.00The daytime was booked months ahead in accordance with international flights . The eve prior I asked company to confirm pick uptime . At 9 pm Tripadvisor messaged the torunwas cancelled but not to worry because I would get full refund !!! Not to worry ? when I asked company why they stated ˚poor weather and unsafe roads !!! I have travelled to 120 countries , taken multiple tours , never ever have I had a tour cancelled on such short notice On those weak conditions. luckily Incas able to rebook with another company , half the price to boot . The road was no problem and the weather was perfect

5.00Visiting for the first time and had a great one day tour with our guide Teshome and driver Nebiyu who were very informative and professional. The highlights were definitely the Mausoleum of Menelik II at the Ba'Ata Church and seeing Lucy at the National Museum of Ethiopia. I went on a Sunday which was relaxing and uncrowded, but beware that certain places like Mercato may not be fully open. Hotel pick up and drop off was a breeze.. The admission fees were included. We had a huge, delicious but very inexpensive traditional Ethiopian meal for lunch. Definitely recommend.

5.00We thoroughly enjoyed our day tour. Teshome was an excellent guide, friendly, interesting and informative and took us to plenty of interesting places. We also had a traditional Ethiopian meal which was delicious. Our thanks also to the driver. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

5.00I had a day to spend in Addis and was able to share it with Teshome. He provided a great overview of the city and major sites! I mentioned I was looking for a football jersey and a scarf and he found a merchant who could offer me a fair price. I enjoyed my trip and would definitely book another tour in the future.

5.00This was an amazing experience and great way to see Addis and learn so much of its history. Teka was an excellent guide, so knowledgeable about Addis but also giving great hints and tips for the city including ordering a traditional lunch which we loved. He was very friendly and spoke excellent English as well. His driver was quiet but very good as well. I can’t recommend this highly enough.
