• The Best Guide We Had in Medellín – Highly Recommended!

  We had an absolutely wonderful day exploring Guatapé and its surrounding countryside with Jhon, who was without question the best guide we had during our entire stay in Medellín. Our first stop was Altos del Chocho, where we had the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of animals. We were able to feed and pet llamas, goats, horses, ostriches, rabbits, piglets, and even dozens of beautiful koi swimming in the ponds. It was a fun and memorable experience for the whole family. We then visited La Rivera Coffee Farm, where Miller and his wife, Nubia, welcomed us warmly and shared their passion for coffee. This was far more than just a coffee tour—it was a hands-on experience. We planted coffee seedlings, picked ripe coffee cherries, learned how the beans are processed, depulped, sun-dried, and roasted, and then enjoyed a delicious cup of freshly brewed coffee. It was authentic, educational, and one of the highlights of our trip. We also visited the historic El Peñol, where we climbed to the top and were rewarded with breathtaking views of the Guatapé reservoir and its stunning landscape. Afterwards, we took time to stroll through the colorful streets of Guatapé, admiring its unique architecture, vibrant atmosphere, and famous decorative zócalos. What truly made this experience exceptional was Jhon. He was knowledgeable, professional, personable, and genuinely passionate about sharing his country with visitors. Most importantly, he never rushed us. Unlike many tours that feel like a race against the clock, Jhon allowed us to enjoy every stop at our own pace, giving us the time to fully appreciate each experience without feeling pressured by a schedule or itinerary. We had several guides during our time in Medellín, but none compared to Jhon. His attention to detail, relaxed approach, and genuine enthusiasm made this one of the most enjoyable days of our entire trip. If you are considering a tour to Guatapé, Altos del Chocho, and a traditional coffee farm, do yourself a favor and ask for Jhon. He turned an already great excursion into an unforgettable experience.   Camilo provide provided us an incredible experience, touring the town of guatape and coffee farms country side. Had food stops at a couple of local gems and got to learn about all things Columbia. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Medellín area.

  Camilo gave us the best day and it was extremely reasonably priced for what we got. I learned so much about Colombia and Guatapé in particular, got to do and see so many different things all within the one day trip.   Taking a tour to Guatapé was easily one of the highlights of my trip to Medellín. From start to finish, the experience was smooth, well-organized, and packed with incredible views. The main attraction, El Peñón de Guatapé, was absolutely breathtaking. Climbing to the top was definitely a workout, but 100% worth it—the panoramic views of the surrounding lakes and islands are something you have to see in person to truly appreciate. The town itself is beautiful and full of color, with its famous zócalos (decorative panels) giving every street so much character. We had time to walk around, take pictures, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. It felt like stepping into a postcard. Our guide Camilo was fantastic—friendly, informative, and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the day. Transportation was easy, and everything ran on time, which made the whole trip stress-free. If you’re visiting Medellín, a day trip to Guatapé is a must.   If I could give this tour 10 stars I would. My tour guide JOSHUA was amazing! Bro knew perfect english, extremely knowledgeable, and was the friendliest most personable tour guide I have ever had and I travel A LOT. During this tour we went and learned all about coffee at this beautiful little farm with an amazing view of El peñón de Guatapé. After picking and learning everything about coffee, we then drove to El peñón de Guatapé. Again JOSHUA was extremely knowledgeable about not only El peñón but basically anything about colombia.   We wanted to do everything outside the city in 1 day, so I looked for a tour that combined a coffee farm with El Penol and Guatape. This tour was perfect! Joshua, our guide, was amazing. He was very informative and laid back. I would definitely recommend this tour!
